MauLer has always seen Anderson as an acceptable target, someone who is worthy of criticism at all times. To the point where in the HBomberguy response, he stopped the response to criticize Anderson when Hbomberguy brought him up and MauLer had to agree with Anderson. Yes, he was unwilling to praise him without backhanding him right afterward; don't want you making the mistake of thinking he thought Anderson was objectively good now, do we? It was very much a case of MauLer thinking someone was wrong, the wrong person never "admitting" he was wrong, and MauLer taking jabs at him when possible.

Keep in mind a lot of this started when Anderson said Soma doesn't work as a horror game because it's not scary. MauLer, especially at the peak of his objective crusade, would go after people like this. If you spoke with confidence and didn't include the phrase "in my opinion", he would treat you as stating a fact and would then prove how your statement was wrong. I'm not a fan of Anderson myself, but he was far and away MauLer's favorite punching bag before the Star Wars videos gave him the co-hosts and audience to punch above his weight class. [At least until the Jenny Nicolson fiasco showed how they aren't taken very seriously outside of their corner of the internet.]

While MauLer likes to defend it, God Of Sporadic Conflict 2 just isn't the hill I see him dying on. I always took the quote to mean brevity as in simplicity, not as in something being short - Something can be very short but still really stupid. Which - Mauler still fails at. His scripts are fucking awful cause he thinks it's funny to slap thirty adjectives onto a noun which turns every single thing he says into a complete word salad. Legit listen to some of his new videos and tell me if you can follow anything he's fucking saying as he vomits out in his deep voice "the regurtitated, vomit inducing, stupid, retarded, cow-like, not good, very bad gooblediegook" five times per sentence.

I think he and the panel were pretty lukewarm on Asmon, though they got into bullshit vocabulary semantics like him needing to say "some people" instead of "everyone", which they kept repeating ad nausea like a special-needs school teacher, and then they just laughed at Asmon over the dead rat clock and maggot bread lore at the end. However, you could sort of tell that unlike Mauler and the others, Rags and Fringy were internally spurging out at Asmon over his AI art takes, but had to keep that shit to themselves because everyone else was on a completely different page of somewhat agreeing with Asmon for the most part.

They clearly don't like AI art, which makes sense considering it would diminish the value of Fringy's Microsoft paint-tier family guy comics or all that money Rags spent on his furry porn addiction. I've clicked through the Task Master one just to make sure this shit was real and yeah this guy really did take the time to sift through Mauler's capeshit review to find every instance of him doing the hilarious "name but said wrong" bit.

Honestly Az is doing the right thing imo. This whole "showing DMs and posturing that he can come talk to him now" by Actman is gay as fuck, and telling him to basically fuck off is the right move. If I understand the situation right, Az never bothered to DM with Actman back when it happened, thinking it would just be another bait and switch for Actman to milk more views on his behalf - which is is probably true; and now he's just saying he still won't talk to him.
