The correct individual response to all this nonsense is to not sperg about it and just not buy the games. Money makes decisions in corporate America.
That said, there will, unfortunately, be goobers who - despite all the critique, vitriolic bitterness, and slur-throwing on sites such as Kiwifarms and elsewhere - will still buy the game developed in consultation with Sweet Baby Inc. Because they are consoomerist goobers who either subscribe to the garbage being pumped out or they just do not care. Often, it is the latter.

This must be said: there will always be slop served in the entertainment media sphere. Goobers will gobble it up. There's no way to avoid knowing about the slop. But you can choose to not pay for it or choose to not subsidize it via other products and live service titles.

That's what the pure purpose of the steam group is, letting the consumer know about the involvement of a particular consulting group. Yelling into echo chambers won't change marketing or contracting for consultation.

tl;dr Don't repeat the same mistakes of Sneedergate. Yelling into a microphone for griftbux on YouTube isn't going to influence any company. Lost revenues will.
Boycotts will. If you're passionate about this - be smart, be organized, and don't give the contracting companies your money on any service or game they publish.
You could use the money you saved on those live service battle passes on a 12-pack of beer, or, even better, stocks!

To touch on this. There will always be goobers buying the shit. But they are irrelevant. Toral sales is irrelevant. What is relevant is that narrow sliver that is the profit margin. It does not take many angey gamers to erase the profit margin. Seeing 200,000+ steam customers on the SBD currated list is pure panic time. That erases $20 million off the top from PC game sales alone. Not counting the crossover sentiment on Playstation, Xbox and Switch.

The SBD group is brilliant. It now assigns a clear cost to letting the outrage pimps in the door. It's $20 million and climbing, day 1 sales. Does anybody think Sweet Baby Stink brings $20 million in extra sales to any product?

The publishers cannot quantify how much engaging with SBI will gain them. Just fluffy marketing plattitudes about diversity. But thanks to SBD they now have a clear granular indication to how much it will at a minimum cost them.

This is terrifying the outrage pimps and grifters. This is much much nastier than Gamergates approaching games media advertisers. This is the bottom line. Right there in the publishers faces. "Do this = lose this". They can't really wail and shriek and scold this away as a Chud Conspiracy. Because the publishers accountants will look at it and simply tell the marketing depts, "don't do this anymore". No need to wade into any culture war shitflinging. Just "stop letting these groups in the door and dont pay them anymore."
