What I see happening is just like with GamerGate, people will fail to ignore the red herrings. If anyone talks about SBI, it should be this.

1. SBI is a scam that encourages employees of game studios to threaten and pressure their leads into being blacklisted if they do not pay for a useless consulting service.
2. Because of this, SBI has an inordinate amount of influence for a useless consulting service. SBI has used this influence to turn many games, including many high profile triple A games, into a worse product. Potentially even leading to some of these studios shutting down.
3. SBI has actively threatened dissenters, going as far as wishing to ruin their lives and breaking the rules of certain platforms to cover up any of their wrong doings.
4. Progressive Politics are a tool not the source of the problem. SBI is first and far most a SCAM leeching off an industry. Their casus belli or underlining ideology is not as relevant as you may think.

This is especially important if you want to get (God forgive me for using this word in 2024) "normies'' on your side. Sperging out about pronouns will not do you any favors. Look what happened to HeelvsBabyface initially before getting vindicated. To a normie who is not in the know, it just looks like you are complaining about something totally irrelevant, not understanding the bigger picture. And getting heated over it makes you look like a man baby. It is best to not pull a Sargon and start debating the merits of feminism. It's not helping the original cause.

The opposite is also true. Preemptively covering your ass before, and even after, criticizing SBI will do you no favors either. For example, many of these mainline YouTubers, i.e. The Act Man, Some Ordinary Gamers, and many more, will always try to cover themselves by saying something akin to the phrase below after SBI or it's supporters make a claim with no evidence.

"Now listen, I don't support harassment or [insert any]phobia of any kind. If the steam group SBI detector is doing this, they should stop."

This is retarded and they are just hedging their bets, with the goal of being able to grift while coming out on the other side mostly unscathed. Making statements like this only gives more power to SBI that they already have plenty of. Claims like these are a red herring through and through. They are intentionally made to deviate discussion from the main problem and to muddy the waters of who is right and who is wrong. When grifters do this, it makes it sound like both sides are shitty and people will quickly disassociate.

I want to make it clear, these grifters are going to be the main enemy to anyone who supports calling out SBI and exposing all their dirty laundry. They will use your cause to milk as much attention and money for themselves and claim they are an authority on the matter. They should be put in their place any time when they try this. Not to say their support isn't helpful, but they need to know their two facing is not appreciated. They either discuss what is relevant, or get the fuck out.

Cyberpunk included an option to not show your characters genitals, so its apparently fairly trivial for game studios to allow users to toggle between assets that would either provide more revealing skin/fanservice, or toggle to assets that would conceal/eliminate fanservice.... why is it hard for game journos to write articles and interview devs about adding features like this to games so people of all sensibilities can cater their game experience to their tastes instead of writing articles about female objectification, the male gaze etc... to completely eliminate shit that most people want in their games?

I've been somewhat involved in game industry and I can safely say that even if companies like SBI will somewhow be abolished nothing in the industry will change, because 95% of game devs are already dedicated neolibs.
It is not the case where le evil company whispers bad advice to a clueless companies Wormtongue-style. No, they legit belive consulting a diversity specialists is the right thing to do and they will keep doing it and they sure won't give afuck about any consumer uprising, because there is literally nobody else besides them on the market.

The way I see it, is that there is a need for alternative gamedev scene all together. The one to challenge the current one. Another GamerGate spergout won't cut it.
