Sorry, I mixed you up with another poster who did screen caps in this thread. The Jeremy shit is funny because he was a manlet who left a job as a waiter to be a crew member at Roosterteeth, joined the talent and was liked after a time, and then during Covid moved back to Boston and basically quit. He basically suffered multiple mental breaks on Twitter and this is all after the Ryan shit.

I think it was @Pizdec or @Chilson who capped those posts like maybe a year ago. His cat got out and he was suicide baiting on twitter for months.

Burnie also mentioned on his podcast he is hearing the severance package is very generous. Realistically guys like Gus, Geoff and Matt aren't going to be hurting financially and just find something they enjoy doing.

In another thread I was complaining about how I don't like videos, podcasts, games, and images all being flattened into "content" and I think this right here is why.
"Content creation" lacks a clear purpose and leads inevitably down the toilet of irl streams and bankruptcy. RvB (which I loved, like many of you I still have the DVDs) was clear with what it was and what it wanted to be (a hang-out comedy series made with Halo). I thought RWBY looked like utter ass, but I guess it had a plot and characters and shit and people liked it.
Lack a clear vision and you're just gonna lose it all on podcast-streaming-actualplay-twitterdrama-reactionvideo-bullshit-content-soup. You'll hire people's girlfriends to stand around and do fuck-all cause no one knows what they're doing and if you're all just mining your lives for "content" then hey, sure, your relationship is part of your life and is therefore "content". Do a cooking stream. Fuck it.
Plus working on something with a clear purpose and goals, wether it's a comedic script, or a character model, or research for a game guide, leaves you basically no time to fiddle about on Twitter and develop wacky ideas about how your bad anime will save the world so it's right and justified to yell at strangers.

I thought Gavin did sell them the channel or they partially owned it so he could come live in America. He said he made it for his work visa, but I don't know how much ownership they have.

I'm just glad Screwattack died when it did. Roosterteeth is a look into how the channel would have spiraled down into the toilet over they years, at least with them I got good memories.

Let this be a lesson: If you are going to base your channel off video games and machinima, maybe focus primarily, if not entirely, on video games and machinima. When I say "focus" I mean make good content people want to watch, not the paywalled slop they've been making for years.

The DC Comics office has got to be panicking.

That's an astute take. Unlike Rooster Teeth, it's far more likely DC Comics would find a buyer or a consortium of buyers if Warner decides to sell it off. The DC brand has largely positive name recognition and a cultural cachet Rooster Teeth lacked.

Once sold off, the new DC owners could conduct a purge to rid DC of its Wokeness, focus on entertainment, and go back to selling millions of its top titles instead of the paltry numbers they're getting now. New DC owners could in theory rejuvenate the American comics industry. Fans would love it.

But we all know this will never happen. Too good to ever be true.
