Sweet Baby Inc. and the Steam Curator Group Conspiracy - The company that is responsible for the diarrheic video game writing.

Seems like it's working out well for SBG, and as much as I dispise most newer games I did enjoy a few. Currently playing the Unicorn Overlord demo and enjoying it while laughing at western gaming as they continue to suck the ESG teat.

If anything I feel bad for the devs and lower level employees with actual talent that are just trying to make a living, but they should have already either tried to branch out on there own or find others to make games they want to play and have passion for.

The drama is finally making its way to the subhumans on /r/games. Don't click if you have blood pressure problems.

Seems mostly sane to me.

You mean the auto-generated lowest common denominator questions on Google based on what you type into the search bar? Very good source. I guess everyone is a troon in this game then.

God I'm starting to hope that Google's auto generated questions are from AI and not people that look at Tifa's bountiful anime titties and go "oh shit I should better do my research and not misgender"

Where did journoscum @Stan head off to? I just finished editing my highly autistic post. What is it with journos and denying that we always had diverse characters in games? And why are they always running away when you bring facts....
Realistically you know the answer already.
Though its weird , because I never connected the dots that she farms points in man-hate thread to offset the trash cans / hats she gets doing takes like this.

Troopers as a backdrop for his think piece about creating a multicultural fascistic society
Noooooo. God! Nooooooooo!

The Terran Federation is a limited constitutional Republic! Ffs, everyone has freedom of speech, assembly, property and can even keep and bear arms! The only restriction is the franchise, where only citizens can vote or hold office, and the Franchise is earned by service. Which is a constitutional right for you to do if you want.

This is the exact OPPOSITE of fascism.

Now here's something. Valve in particular stood out to me, so I looked up "__________ leaves Valve" and poked around the Overwiki and check this shit out:

Here are a bunch of now-ex Valve people and when they left
  • 2016
    • Marc Laidlaw, writer
    • Andrea Wicklund, artist
    • Doug Wood, modeler and animator
  • 2017
    • Chet Faliszek, writer
    • Erik Wolpaw, writer, came back as contractor for Half-Life: Alyx
    • Jay Pinkerton, also came back for HL:A
    • Josh Weier, writer
    • John Guthrie, level designer
- 2018 - SBI founded -
  • 2019 - Richard Garfield, designer for Magic: The Gathering, then Artifact
  • 2019 - Matt Wood, dev, CS:GO
  • 2022- Doug Lombardi, VP marketing
  • 2023 - Mike Ambinder, experimental psychologist

What the hell happened in 2016-2017?

Companies grow and change. Turnover is normal.
In this case I think 2016-2017 HL3 was killed for real. Marc Laidlaw had issues with the way the company was moving.
Richard Garfield and his philosophy behind monetization was probably the biggest reason artifact failed so hard.
