The vast majority of Preds caught by PeeJ/Dateline/local LEOs WERE prosecuted. IIRC, a couple of Preds in the Ft Meyers sting were able to get the charges dismissed when PeeJ refused to hand over their servers, though both lost the vehicles they drove to the sting house to civil forfeiture. In one of the CA stings a couple of guys got the charges dismissed and one was rearrested later for rape. It’s the Texas sting you’re thinking of, where the ADA from a neighboring county an hero’d after realizing he’d been making sexy online with one of their decoys and Dateline/Sheriff’s Deputies showed up at his door, and his buddy the Judge dismissed all the cases, (one of which reoffended shortly afterwards and ended up with a 20 year Fed sentence). The vast majority of the guys in the other stings law enforcement was involved in were convicted and most of them served prison time/RSO.

I think it depends on the state. The places where guys like Rosen hunt will take evidence from vigilante groups provided they can establish a chain of custody for evidence. He mentioned in one of the posts above that he helped get some pedo 120 years (nice) which is something I imagine the defense attorney would've fought tooth and nail to get that evidence thrown out.

Ohio may be one of those states that don't work with those groups. At least that's what I heard from Cyraxx's trolls whenever they sting him for talking to minors.

I actually remember watching a few of this guy's videos back when he still had his predator poachers channel in ~2020. One particular bust that stood out to me was out on some ranch in the boonies. They busted a guy in front of his wife, who was on camera for most of the video. They assured her they would blur out her face, but the blur was janky at best and left her face clearly visible for several seconds at a time each time they moved the camera. When called out about it in the comments, they blamed Youtube's auto blur for not working very well, as if that absolved them of the responsibility to blur faces properly.

It came as no great surprise that they got banned. They were already painting a target on their back given the subject matter of their videos and the rookie mistakes they routinely made gave their detractors all the ammo they could possibly need.

Tbf, there are many amateur predator hunters that have gone on power trips where they blackmail and exploit alleged predators where they're forced to humiliate themselves on camera in order to avoid initial police involvement. When they do this shit that results in the cases getting messy for law enforcement to pursue, it's definitely worth the criticism and callouts to be made.
