Nah. Everyone just keeps their head down. There are so many useless people in this industry that don’t get fired. We all just look and think to ourselves that if we were in charge we would fire them, but we aren’t in charge so what are we going to do but get our work done for our paycheck and hope the leadership team doesn’t fuck up so much that we are forced to crunch unpaid overtime. Shit like Sweet Baby Inc. is just a symptom of the rot that lies in these massive bloated companies. Leadership with no vision who don’t want to be accountable for anything and will try and use whatever means they can to pass the buck to someone else. Take credit if it does well and deflect blame when it does poorly. Then take a massive paycheck on your way out the door as you move to another studio to ruin and allow everyone under you to suffer the consequences.

And what’s the average employee to do? Speak up and you have your career put in the can. Quit and find another job that is probably doing the same shit? Take a massive risk and try and go indie? Unfortunately, such a risk is too much to many and other have families they need to support so doing that is really out of reach.

As someone who works in the industry the only thing that can save it is its demise. It needs to burn to the ground so it can be rebuilt from the ashes until it will rot under the weight of corporate America once again, but hopefully we can get a brief age of good games before that happens.

That's something that most jannies in gaming forums, game modding websites, and subreddits haven't realized yet. Banning a large group of people does not make them forget about something.
It might make them unable to dissent, but it won't make them throw their hands in the air and say, "Oh well, I'm not going talk about Sweet Baby anymore because I was banned! I will wipe my brain clean and pretend this never happened!"
Like, banning someone just because they complained that someone was putting unnecessary transgender idpol in something unrelated like Warhammer won't make that person side with you.
It will shut them up, sure, but they will remember that for a long time.
Also, it might get to a point where you'll be banning so many people that you'll be left with a weak shitty community where people keep constantly beating around the bush just to not get their asses banned. It sucks to be in an environment like that. It feels scripted, unnatural, artificial, non-human, and robotic.

This has the potential to be worse for them than Gamergate. For a couple of reasons:

1. This has been mostly driven by normies who follow the likes of Asmongold, Mutahar and other youtube channels. This wasn't born out of our area of the internet (which would be a mistake if it was). The people complaining are more mainstream than those involved in 2014.
2. Modern AAA games fucking suck. There has been a lot of talk as to why they suck. The two main reasons being given are poor writing and pushing games as a service. This addresses the bad writing thing.
3. Whilst we've learned out lessons in not touching this shit, it is obvious that hasn't applied to the opposition, they've proven they haven't learned a single fucking thing.
4. Ultimately there is a fatigue concerning political things. And it has bitten conservative provocateurs like Stephen Crowder in the ass so the sword cuts both ways. After 10 years of this shit and COVID, people just dont want to hear it or be preached to, about anything. The fact that Kotaku and games media is doubling down on the political is only going to make (normal) people hate them more.

I am going to sit on the sidelines and watch. As I said previously I learned my lesson, I am just going to sit back and watch, because if it is Gamergate 2.0, then I bet a million dollars and my testicles we're going to get some new lolcows out of this.

100% Friendly fire has been baked into Arrowheads games since 2011. Its is not being turned off for the trannies after creating a 5 million+ sales hit that is only getting stronger. The devs have already banned people from their discord for asking since they are purposely not being any real world politics into the game.

I think he just knows he is preaching to the choir and won't be allowed to make money off it which makes it all around pointless. He also just seems like a guy who barely holds his shit together at the best of times. He has a very short attention span in his streams and constantly hops from thing to thing. You are right though, if I was him I would be streaming all day, reading tweets, reacting to other peoples videos, playing woke bullshit games and fucking around.

I subscribe to him trying not to anger the algorithm as well. Look at his Alex Jones game review, there was basically nothing he could say that wouldn't get him demonitized or hit with something. There was a lot of "you know what I mean" and "nudge nudge" or "I can't say this here" kind of stuff.
That does make him a hack or a grifter however, he knows he should be talking about this.

He's been mentioning it in his videos for months and so were people in the comments under his videos. On recent streams he often talks about how he's been doing it for so long yet got no acknowledgement at all.

That was the match, but the bomb was arranged with care well ahead of time. We are seeing a confluence of three aggressive strands of autism here. The Anime Localization scandal, where it finally broke into the mainstream that US based localizers for Anime were deliberately rewriting scripts to inject political talking points, the current spate of absolutely TERRIBLE games just dripping with progslop, and the fact that it is an election year in the USA and Orange Man is on the ballot.

The autism could not be contained.
