Likely super late, but when were the colored join dates in-thread nuked? Is this a technical consequence of ripping user scores out, or something done on purpose because the odd fag got in stupid fights over this?

Screenshot in case this is just a me problem, and for posterity if it's an actual change and it gets reverted:

Just moved to the little tool tip that comes up when you hover or click on the username.
As far as I'm aware it's been that way the entire time I've used the site, the only modification is the user score being the more generic version it just became. You had the colored join date below the user quote or below the pink triangle/true and honest fan/ mod labels etc if you had/have them and you have the join date in the expanded window.

If the join date's been there I didn't notice until Null made the change that "moved" the join dates.

Who is we? You are not of the body. You are trying to police a designated shitposting zone.
This is Kiwi Farms. I'm a member of this community and I'm helping maintain it's culture the way all members are expected to. Null has stated that this isn't a Redditnigger community. I, numerous other Farmers, and Null himself have been trying to drill that fact into your thick skull this entire time. This community was never meant to function in such a way and if I'm mistaken Null or one of the staff is welcome to correct me. Sorry to tell you but it's you who has the wrong impression of this community and what it's meant to be.

> Calls out farmers for being reddit niggers
> Uses sir as an insult
> Doesn't properly use story emote

:story:
You speak like a faggot tourist, fuck off cunt.
WHAT?

Uh, KIWIBROS I just noticed you can post stuff in Kiwifarms.. ISN'T THIS JUST LIKE REDDIT? This is too similar to reddit, we should get rid of posting immediately, KIWIBROS.
Seeing as you have nothing of substance left to say I'll let you enjoy the rest of your spergout so you get that sticker derangement syndrome out of your system. Was a pleasure gentlemen.

:agree: except for designated shitting subforums
As we learned though if one goes it all goes. If we get rid of “nothing of substance” in one forum it will happen to all.

Edit: I am aware this thread is about notifications, not score, but the topics are heavily linked so I'm posting about it anyway.

I believe that a scoring system that gives a +3 for informative posts incentivizes writing posts with informative content / effortposting - whether you believe this is retarded or not is less relevant than whether it is the case or not.
If the reaction score incentivizes making informative posts over shitty ones, removing it may be detrimental to the forum's average post quality.

If your sole reason for disliking it is that you draw comparisons to reddit, maybe consider not letting other communities dictate what you let yourself like or dislike UX-wise. Feedback features are not inherently good or bad because site XYZ uses it.

I don't care about any of the stupid autism related to hats. I do not believe stickers impact the use of DM chains - users always form cliques and cliques will attempt to communicate in private. But I do believe they incentivized effortposting in a small way on a forum that is about collaboratively gathering and collating info on weirdos and users receiving positive feedback for these tasks nudges behavior in the right direction.

Posts are a useless feature that has indeed caused stress and dismay to many users, harming their psychological health. Just like reaction stickers they have no effect on the real world independent of their use in communicating information.

Hopefully in the near future this site can be made safe for everyone by removing all the posts.
:agree:

Posting on the Farms is just mindless dopamine farming. I'm forever jonesing for that clickety clack of my keyboard as I type out the most asinine and retarded shit known to man. The joy that wells up in my chest as I think about my words bothering someone half the world away is fabricated and fake. I am but a soyjacked slave to my base human nature, and I must sew my fingers together so that I can post no more. I must sew my eyes shut so that I can read no more! Save me from myself!

I guess it's fair to remove a feature if it just creates extra work that nobody wants to do.

One thing I don't understand is why Null wants to make the site "more conversational" when we have a SneedChat, an official Telegram chat, a DM feature, and an ability to post on someone's profile if you want to have a conversation with them. It's a forum, right? I don't know about you, but I mostly read highlighted posts.

If the reaction score incentivizes making informative posts over shitty ones, removing it may be detrimental to the forum's average post quality.

I'm not receiving notifications
You only get a notification for the first new post in a watched thread. You won't get another one until you visit the thread. If you aren't getting any at all I have no idea what's wrong.
