Sadness level over 8000. I didn't even watch the show, he just looled like a chill old dude.
 
Man, I'm so glad ED is still around. I remember laughing like crazy when I read the article on DBZ:
Dragon Ball Z (also known as DBZ) is a show about 'roid-enraged, shirtless, and constipated super-apes who spend fifteen episodes talking about how powerful they are, and the next five screaming "Ha" at the top of their lungs before one or more of them explodes. Fans claim that it is action-packed and has tons of fighting, despite there being almost no fighting. Every episode mostly consists of staring contests, landscape pans, and witnesses clenching their fists and looking worried, and if there is fighting, it's not until you realize you wasted twenty minutes of your life to see a three-second fight. In short, it's sort of like professional wrestling, but for even stupider people.

The manga-ka lifestyle claims another one. At least he had time to finish what he began.

Damn it Oda, stop smoking and go on a vacation right now! I need to know what happens at the end of One Piece.

On the same topic: I never began reading Bersek because after the original author died, I thought it just would not be the same. But I heard people saying the successors are doing a good job maintaining the legacy. Are they correct? Is it still worth to begin reading it?

Speaking of, the man himself commented on Toriyama's untimely death. The guy completely idolized Toriyama, I can't imagine how devastated he must feel.

This is such a tragic news.

This man was responsible for creating Dragon Ball and who helped make Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger, this guy alone was responsible for the Shonen genre becoming popular worldwide and would genration after genration.

This man guy help made careers and drew art like no other, the amount of hours he put into them just show the ammount creativy this man had, just look at all his works, they're gorous to look at.

And in the end, he dies at the age of 68.

The is just horrible.

This is really sad to hear about. Dragon Ball got me into anime as a kid, and possibly millions of other children too. I've been a Goku fan since I was in the single digits and have a serious interest in anime, especially in a historical sense.

Undeniably, not only does Dragon Ball make him the king of Shonen, but his influence is responsible for sparking the careers of several other artists in the genre, some of which are legends in their own right now.

RIP, I hope his family and friends are doing alright in this sad time.

No, the continuation is bad, they don't know what they're doing. Mori should not have agreed with Sutdio Gaga's enthusiasm to finish the manga. They don't even understand the fundamentals of Guts' character. Just read the manga for the 364 episodes (chapters in any other manga) by Miura and decide if you want to continue.
BTW, I started reading it after Miura's death.

That sucks. What a pity so many people I know called it a masterpiece, I really hoped it would get properly finished.

In that case I don't think I should even read the 364 chapters, no? I mean, even worse than never experiencing something great, is to experience it just enough to create an emotional bond with it and then have it taken away without proper closure.

The knowledge I will never see its end would eat me away.

Truly sad. I remember watching DBZ as a kid. It's not my favorite. But it was influential on me. Rest in peace king.

It's still a great story. It is worth it to experience it. The 90s anime is a self-contained adaptation. See it and if you enjoyed yourself or saw something exceptionally interesting, try the manga.

Anyway, Toriyama's impact was exceptional. I've swung between disliking him and liking him. A lot of the time I wanted him to have a better grip on the story of Dragonball and its characters especially. At some point he stopped caring. I guess that's okay, although it did initially made me furious. But it's his work that he shares with me (for a price), it's not my call. A person makes a connection with a story, and starts to feel like he has coownership, but that doesn't mean it's true. The scope of the manga went beyond the original characters and he didn't feel like developing them to the extent that they'd make a continuous impact on the events. I still may not like this decision, but it's fine.
