I have no idea what true crime is although I saw the term used in the forums a few times.
I am highly suspicious of JF and his story though. If I were the police I would be investigating him, what he eats, where he shits, what meds he's on, and what he buys. Everything.

I'm willing to bet money that's why the cops have been so quiet. They're just quietly gathering as much evidence as possible before they have enough to pounce on him when he's too off-guard to notice beforehand and kill his family. (Because he is absolutely the kind of person to do that if he felt threatened by impending arrest)

So, is it safe to say at this point that assuming he actually did it, he got away with it?

Sometimes out of nowhere a key piece of evidence is found and a murderer can go to jail ten years after he "got away with it." However, after doing a lot of research for the creepy unsolved mystery thread, I have become extremely blackpilled on how utterly incompetent the RCMP are. I have read of countless open and shut cases that went absolutely nowhere because of their baffling ineptitude. Add onto this how "cold" the case was before anyone even knew she was "missing" and I do have some serious doubts about justice being served.

It’s not uncommon for a case like Mama JF to take several years. A big problem is she wasn’t reported missing until weeks after she was murdered and an even bigger problem, no body. No body cases suck to prosecute. Sometimes cops bide their time hoping a body will turn up to help matters, in the interim they are keeping tabs on the suspect hoping the relative calm causes him to fuck up and they keep gathering more evidence.

IDK about Canada but in US I’d expect an indictment 2-3 years after she went missing given the circumstances, maybe more. Building a solid case for a no body murder conviction takes a lot more time because being able to prove to a jury she’s actually dead is part of the process, which is a big added layer of BS most murder cases don’t have to contend with.

MamaJF and JF both mentioned her father being an environmental scientist, and I was able to find a working professor of ecology with her last name in Quebec. He’d be about the right age to be her father, but absent any more evidence I didn’t share it here.

I’ve only picked up bits and pieces. Mentioned in his custody suit materials was the fact he had two? adult brothers and they all lived in a triplex with mom still taking care of them, but that was ten years ago. It gave the impression of a mom taking care of adult man baby sons. He also mentioned being raised around a large extended family as a kid.

I’m pretty convinced he could not dispose of her body without some help. How do dispose of mom’s body with a toddler and newborn around? Mom was at least babysitting under extreme suspicious conditions during Mama J’s departure. I also think he would have had assistance disposing of the body.

It’s possible it was a solo operation but to quickly and safely dispose of a body un-observed, an extra set of hands is needed, if he didn’t chop her up. Need a look out and someone to help lug a body. I don’t believe JF could handle dead weight like that in his own. If he did chop her up he needed a few days and a lot of cleanup, which would also be noted by anyone interacting with JF during this period.

I think he dumped her in the drink but if it was an intact body or parts is debatable. It would probably require a boat, if not people do notice someone throwing bags off the middle of bridges. I could go on, but unless he’s estranged from his entire family I think they would have very useful, if not key eyewitness testimony, for the missing mama JF murder mystery and what was afoot the week she suddenly decided to become a survivalist,

JF has always tried to keep his actual life offline because it destroys his facade to see he scrapes by off welfare and begging in a crappy little house in rural Canada.

I’d assume the cops have requested they remain quiet. Also, if JF thinks they are on his side, and believe his story, it means they can trap him into some bullshit stories. He would have to play along with the “search for Mama JF” stuff with them and keep talking which is always useful for investigations.
