Software is more often than it should be, a poorly thought out business done on the cheap that forces users to test their services for free. Doubly true if the business venture is providing a clone of something or is related to a free service.
Rumble's likely responses regarding Nick is probably something along the lines of how Nick treats his audience re:5K gift. "It's still in testing" "Being included in a future update", etc... I seem to remember him being a mouthpiece for Locals' working on backend changes as well. So he has that language down pat.
Didn't his dad work in software or technology products? Maybe that's explains his insistence on knowing how these things work as another example of his omniscence obtained by second hand knowledge... just a random thought.
Anyway, the difference here is, Nick is not smart enough to work in software. He can barely sober up long enough to put together a jigsaw puzzle. If he could manage to complete even a simple project, such a jigsaw puzzle, without a plathora of excuses to go with then I'm not going to lie... I'd be pleasantly and positively thrilled for him.
His Locals (in its current state) is genuinely a waste of time, so if he's still getting paid flat fees from the company to keep it, then that's the only reason to maintain it... perhaps the Locals gives him an out as he can keep tabs on his "community" without having to stream as much and that gives him more leeway (in his wet brain state) to neglect his brand.
