I'm not familiar with American legalese, is this a scenario in which he could get off completely free if his daughter (who he clearly mentally fucked up) doesn't press charges?

You've probably noticed that in the US, Civil cases are named things like "Greer v. Moon" but criminal cases are named "Commonwealth of Virginia v. Ralph" or "United States v. Some Pedophile", etc. Although having a uncooperative victim usually tanks a criminal case, it depends on how bad the prosecuting attorney wants that ass.

I think disorderly conduct doesn't matter as it's a crime that applies in a way that you dont need a victim or witness testimony for it to be a conviction. My friend has had a couple of them and alot of them didnt even have anyone else.

It’s an interesting case study in how severe BPD originates in people. I truly feel bad for Grace, she is a sum total of her crazy parents creation. She could have been born with a perfectly normal brain but the environment it was subjected to created the faulty wiring that ruins her life and makes her miserable and totally unstable and unable to function in any semi-normal way.
She will seek chaos, drama, conflict and attention just to feel alive for the rest of her life. Drama and conflict are only emotional fuel that her brain knows how to consume and use.
Her dad is truly a fucking monster. I hope he dies soon.

It's a PR bond so basically he has to pinky swear he'll show up for all his hearings or he'll pay $10,000. He'll walk out of the jail having paid $0. It's a stupid system.
Prosecutors do not require the consent of the victim to proceed with the case. Though an uncooperative victim makes it harder, this guy being caught dead to rights kicking her on camera makes for a relatively easy case regardless. He'll probably have to plea out on some lesser charge.

It is odd that Grace brags about stealing dad from her mother. Usually the worst moms are paranoid that a stepdad or boyfriend is attracted to their daughter. Nightmare stories about a girl telling mom they were raped by stepdad and mom gets mad at the child for “seducing him”. Bonkers stuff.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a situation where the girl readily brags she is “stealing” mom’s partner when it is actually her biological father, as opposed to an unrelated male.
The Thorpes might win the award for being the most fucked up family on the entire Internet. Dad and Grace seem proud of how deranged and awful they are too. BPD people should be sterilized.

That is mess pretty mess up, but if this was her mom that kick her instead of her Dad, she would have gotten away and no police file would be report.
After reading her thread, that is just sad. She is 21 years old and still young. I hope she turn her life around because she is hanging out with the wrong people and everyone around her is giving her bad example in life. Glad her Dad got arrested and should stay in jail.
