It's pretty sad seeing the backlash Pope Francis is getting for telling Zelensky to go to the negotiating table.

Just so I'm clear on what pro-Ukraine people think about diplomacy, diplomacy to stop a war is bad (appeasement or something), war is also bad, and diplomacy to end a war is very bad. Wonder what an ideal UN meeting looks like to them.

(Of course the Munich compromise also prevented a war, which goes right above their heads. Conversely, if the Anglos had told the Poles to fuck off and settle Germany’s fairly legit territorial claims, WW2 would never have started.)

Peace is always better than war, negotiations are better than grandstanding. Compromise beats death.
