Here's the thing.
Feral cats in cities need to be killed. That most states catch them and sterilize them is all that keeps their numbers in check. If it weren't for animal rights fags, they'd simply be euthanized instead of set free to fuck up fauna some more until dying of misfortune.
Stray cats (semi-feral and sometimes suitable for rescue) are more of a grey area. But ironically, they're the ones who end up getting euthed on apprehension the most since there aren't enough people willing to take them in. Do I feel bad about it? Not really.
Sadism to animals is all kinds of fucked up and can't be condoned. But honestly, these "feed a feral cat while I keep 90% of your donation" streams should be outlawed. I don't care about the cute chika-chika meme.

It's a shadowy corner in China. Animal abuse isn't illegal there. They had kitchens burning dogs alive (with one of those big blow torches) to get better tasting meat under the animal's stress and nothing was done. And when covid was spreading, people's pets were forcibly taken out of their homes in fear that they'll spread the disease and were beaten to death on the streets by government health workers.

There are probably foreigners paying for torture media but the culture in China does not respect animals at all. There were quite a few stories on their social media where a kid cries his/her heart out because the family dog was sent to be butchered on a whim by family members. It's only now that there are younger people who grew up in cities with more "western" values that these tortures cause an outrage.

The first one. The company puts out feeders with cameras and viewers can donate money and the feeders will put out treats or kibble. The supposedly also pay for TNR stuff.

China likes to push their shiny LED cities as their representation, but outside of those places it's still pretty much shithole tier with internet access and cheap chinesium products. In rural areas they are still getting busted for kidnapping and trading women to be brides for their sons. They put out these little container things out on the streets and wherever that the cats / dogs / birds / rabbits / what have you can come and go as they please. There's like streams and clips of it all over YouTube right now it's got somewhat of a cult following.
