Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

If zelensky refuses to negotiate, how long will be stay in power?
I still stand by the belief that Zelensky will continue to be propped up by the West as "The guy who doesn't give up the fight" right up until the Fall of Ukraine, whatever form that takes. At that point, he and some of his cabinet and whoever else they can manage will be evacuated and held up as a Government in Exile. The West can claim the war isn't over, that the local authorities surrendering to Russia is meaningless as the true government is over here, and then use Ukraine as constant justification to saber rattle and feed the MiC.

Speaking of wunderwaffen, when does the US lend UFO based tech to Ukraine? I’ve always heard how we have this amazing tech maybe so why does it never appear?
Probably because this alien tech is so advanced that it takes geniuses to understand, make, and operate them without killing everyone in the vicinity of the weapon; and those geniuses are mostly white males with conservative values.

With how poorly maintained our equipment is, and the fact we can't replicate tech to refurbish missiles from the 80's, I have my doubts we could reverse engineer a chink drone at this point. Let alone something alien.
That's an amusingly intact turret. Did someone just give Russia some nice shiny optics to play with?

It was yet another instance of British military equipment operating in front of observers

I'm a bong so maybe there is some subconscious bias here but it seems like Challenger 2's are genuinely nearly fucking invincible. I know Russians took one out earlier and the Americans "friendly fired" one but have the Brits finally created a good tank?

Educate me tank autists.

Not a tank autist but a quick search found 4 videos/pictures of challengers being destroyed. Out of the 14(?) Ukraine was given. It's invincible as long as it's not in combat or near deep puddles it seems.

Abrams is IMO actually fairly good, but also they gave them kindof shitty old and export-ized versions. The abrams protection has improved by as much as 10x in some regards over the years since it was first introduced, so 'an abrams is not an abrams is not an abrams' applies here
And yet videos of destroyed Abrams are banned because it damages its reputation. If only its rep had depleted uranium armor.

The thing is: Come May 15 (I believe), Zelensky’s presidential term expires, and there’s no way to extend it without elections.

Z will essentially become a constitutionally illegal dictator if he stays in office. (Which absolutely nobody believes he will quit.)

That fact could be combined with some kind of move towards a settlement. Maybe the army will move in to depose him (in coordination with NATO advisers) and start negotiations. Maybe we will see another Maydan.

Another issue entirely is that Z is totally dependent on foreign aid. If funding gets cut, nobody, including the army and the government is getting paid. So he can refuse to negotiate, but only up to a point.

Like… In some sense I can’t help but have some respect for what that Cirillo dude has done.

I know Ukraine is an extremely fucked up state, and what he did could only happen in a place this dysfunctional. But… He went to another country, LARP’ed as a woman and soldier, MANAGED TO BECOME THEIR MILITARY SPOKESPERSON, holding briefings and shit.

(And of course got the F outta dodge once things became obviously bad.)
Kinda reminds me of that De Caprio movie where he manages to hustle his way into being a doctor and pilot.
