EVS only needed to crowdfund his first book. With those proceeds he could've pre-produced everything else going forward and done exactly the same thing EJ is. We even suggested that but he told us we were crazy to think he should risk his own money instead of yours going forward. He spent it and yours on himself instead and now can't afford to print and ship the products everyone paid for. Now he's an IBS drama streamer.
Why would he use his own money when his campaigns make $1million? Plus the stretch goals are what gets more people to spend more money. It's an incentive for people to get invested in the campaign. EJ has monthly memberships that only get you a discount on merch and priority shipping. That makes no sense at all. EJ's biggest comic is launching today and there isn't even any mention of it on his site. He has no idea what he's doing.
Maybe they shouldn't be in the crowdfunding business if they can't even do half of the work in their own pocket. You should at least have the storyboard & a few pages done before expecting people to drop as much as 200 dollars for the variants, ash cans & other perks.
Yeah he should be fighting other creators and ignoring the flood of refund requests on projects that were abandoned for almost 2 years.

Without crowd funding they can't even make the book so I don't understand where you're coming from. Most small crowd funds don't have stretch goals because they barely make enough money as it is. Only the big established crowd funders do all the perks.
It should be a wakeup call that cyberfrog 3 peaked at 605k and it's mostly people asking for refunds.
There's webtoon creators who make less than cg creators putting out weekly chapters. No excuses.

He already admitted the Snowman book that was completed last summer hasn't gone to print because the cost has risen too high. Thats a relatively small print run too so even if it meant less or no profit it wasn't worth the damage to his already radioactive reputation to just not deliver it and leave everyone hanging. You do the math on the other 7 or so late campaigns.
Especially coming from a industry veteran he should've on principle have a few pages done before expecting customers to pay. He's acting like star citizen.

Do we live in alternate universes? None of that happened. Eric was beaming that his book was a massive success, thanked his fans a lot, and then reinvested his profits back into his company to improve it. Then Dick shows up, trashes the book without reading it (which is true, he got basic details wrong and quite literally admitted it), Eric responds as literally anyone would to that, and then it proceeds to snowball from there.
Maybe the dumbass should reinvest into his own books since his campaigns don't make $1 million anymore because he spends all day on youtube and twitter instead of fucking finishing his books. There's nothing stopping him from having stretch goals AND completed books besides his own laziness. The only ones still investing are his simps because the others got tired of waiting for their books. Crowdfunding isn't an excuse to be late. I've backed books and gotten them on time.
