EVS should always say all the negative things he sees in other people's comics; that is literally the only good thing that comes from the guy.

When he praises one of his CG buddies' work, his reviews suck.

The problem isn't that he criticizes poor EJ; it's that he doesn't do that with the people in his own club.

I watched his review of ISOM #1, and there was nothing wrong with his critique.
I would have gone harder against not just the art but the story too, but EVS' stories suck, so he probably isn't all that great at realizing how bad ISOM's story is.

I would rather all independent comic creators have animosity towards each other and tell me if another's comic sucks, rather than it be a big happy club that is always nice to each other.

As said before EVS' moral character doesn't matter to me, I see the majority of people involved as scum. I found the review insightful and as you point out it only exists because they hate each other.

Yes Ernst was first in the sphere I was just thinking about it but Cummings then transformed what he did and started a new way of going about things that was followed by who came later. He styled the movement. In that sense I say he started it. I agree both deserve credit and without Ernst Zack probably would still be in a shitty it job or over in the Ukraine dirty war game scenario getting his ass handed to him.

Cummings & Ernst were the first YT critics, with Zack initially bringing some much needed levity and some well-intentioned journeyman high school art aesthetics that got the crank turning on the crowdfunding aspect of CeeGee. It became Scivergate as soon as Ethan rolled in and planted his flag after Zack's success with Malin.

As far as I'm concerned, peek CG was during the Waid TI legal battle. It died out completely when Zack lost his nerve. There is nothing of value to be had when the spirit of the what we were told was a "movement" was broken. The only thing left to do now is to alawg the ever loving ink off the pages.

If juju is DM then no, I was never a fan but he was right about EJ. I was in a situation that I won't go into detail where I wanted to collect comics without buying Marvel or DC when I stumbled across CG. EVS wasn't the only person promoting EJ's shitty comics. You had the fnt guys licking his balls even though they didn't bother reading the book. EVS doesn't do anything unless he can get money from it so I knew that's why he was promoting EJ and he wound up getting 3 CGers paid off EJ's books. I dislike EJ because he's a fraud and he treats people like shit. I watched him years ago and sussed him out pretty quickly. Say what you want about evs but I think his books are great and EJ's are terrible trash.

He did do art for Rippaverse. It was the best selling cover for Isom 2 by far. So did Shane and Renie. Shane's cover cost $100 and sold well. He doesn't need EJ for anything dude. We'll see how Yaira does today. I can't wait for the coping when people see how terrible the interior art is.

To break it down for Motts: this really started because Eric wrongfully expected loyalty and discretion from Shiverfrog in not critiquing his stuff instead of letting Shiverfrog do what he does best: talk crap when it's convenient and throat-puffing and leaking DMs because he never grew up around responsible adult men who handled their affairs honorably. In short, he expected the Froghog to treat him the way he himself treated the Froghog up to that point. All Ethan does to make himself feel special is to lower the playing field around him. I don't even think this would have happened at all had Eric's success been mid or low tier CeeGee.

I give you money , you make a book pretty simple. Delays like family emergencies natural disasters etc are understood within reason with communication and updates on campaign page. Going on YouTube to bitch and whine about other creators for hours at a time instead of working on your book not so much. What’s not to understand about crowdfunding.

1st off EJ didn't crowd fund his book. They were pre-ordered. Most creators don't have money to make a book so they crowdfund and depending on how much it makes they can afford to pay a colorist, letterer etc. That's why it takes so long to get a crowd funded book and why EJ put his out so fast. His book was finished already when he started taking orders.

You realize that's bullshit considering there's people pouring thousands of dollars in ethan's unfinished books.
