Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I like that july doesn't bait his fans to buy a hundred varaints or other useless campaign items that would cause delays in his books. Just get a online store for that shit like Eric did.
Wasn't CG's biggest argument at one point the amount of cover variants that over-saturated the market and strong-armed LCS into buying multiple copies they can't sell in order to hit the goal to get special variants...

Hmmmm

Yaira’s near $700,000 already.

I think he doesn't really want to do comics, he want's to be a youtube grifter full time and get superberries for being the amazing EVS.
This I agree with.

I could see him taking the Rekieta path. Whereas Rekieta is a non-practicing lawyer, EVS might turn into a non-practing comic book artist.

One can only hope things escalate to gun violence.
Imagine Vito getting shot dead in a rippaverse fanatic drive buy, now that would be amatzing.
I don't advocate or want to see violence, but for a long time now the smart money has always been on Riley getting mag dumped in a situation of his own making, and it'll be ruled justifiable homicide. Usually July himself is envisioned as being behind the trigger. Either him or police/private security.

That's great. It will probably hit 2 million. Good for him seriously

Maybe they shouldn't be in the crowdfunding business if they can't even do half of the work in their own pocket. You should at least have the storyboard & a few pages done before expecting people to drop as much as 200 dollars for the variants, ash cans & other perks.

Yeah he should be fighting other creators and ignoring the flood of refund requests on projects that were abandoned for almost 2 years.
You're right about that. I got refunded on 2 books pretty fast though but no response on my Snowman refund request. There's no excuse for taking 2 or 3 years on a comic.

I don't think he, or anybody, has anything on July on the same level as the shit Dick, Vito, Rekieta et al have been doing, and I think he knows it.

Well, alrighty then.

Honestly Motts, if your argument here is he's not doing things the "Comicsgate way," you'll get no argument from me.
Well, he's about to hit 1 mill in one day so what do I know. Hopefully the book is good

Ethan on the other hand claimed the 90s was the height of comics and the speculators bubble wasn't a bad thing. So you better buy that variant and hope Ethan doesn't dump the overprint he did on ebay before you can cash out.

Has he fulfilled in the past 4?
I've been checking his IGG comments section. Looks like Graveyard Shifts 1-3 were completed. Reading through the comments on his Godlike comic, it's at least one and a half years late. Even though there were some complaints, it seems like he did ship out his Graveyard Shift 4.

So, it would appear that on the balance he is getting most of his books printed and shipped. At least when it comes to Graveyard Shift.

Meanwhile with 9 days left, Malin's Graveyard Shift 5 is getting close to breaking 80k. That has to hurt.

I looked up the campaign. The art looks horrible. Reminds me of a random D list Image title from the mid to late 90s. And Malin himself has always been off putting as a internet personality. He always seems angry and bitter about something. Shane Davis might be a stiff as an internet personality, but his Inglorious Rex stuff at least looks visually interesting.

Maybe, maybe maybe?

EDIT: I don't know why I uploaded a video and only audio came out?

Here's a catbox link to the video. My apologies.
Simp supreme and coomsummate gamma male froggo decided its a good idea to threaten JD Kirby. How? By posting a video of himself loading a revolver next to a Rippaverse hat. ...then immediately deleted it like a fucking pussy. :story:

I asked for chaos, and the universe is giving it to me. STRAP IN BUCKOS IT ONLY GETS MORE FUNNY FROM HERE!

This is were we fundamentally philosophically disagree.
I want to see ultra violence. I am probably not gonna get it, but the idea of car bombs, stabbings and gun fights all in the name of Comic Books would make me laugh.
Up to you, but I think it goes against the zeitgeist of the site to hope for or encourage actual violence. It's lumped in with other things that constitute "line crossing harassment."

That's what made the shit Riley was engaged in so distasteful, IMO. Ultimately, it seemed to garner July more sympathy than ridicule. Trade barbs on the Internet all you want, but physically going to a guys workplace to start shit over a comic book is ridiculous.

Well, he's about to hit 1 mill in one day so what do I know. Hopefully the book is good
AFAIK, all of July's books to date have exceeded 1 million.

So how exactly does he not know what he's doing?

If not knowing what he's doing means he doesn't understand that he's supposed to take people's money, sit on his ass all day on livestreams, and put out the book years later (if at all), then I sincerely hope, for the sake of July and his customers, he never figures out that's what he's supposed to be doing.

I can't help but think the bitterness here is because July is an existential threat to the CG way of life, by demonstrating that this whole thing can be done much better and with greater profit.

He already admitted the Snowman book that was completed last summer hasn't gone to print because the cost has risen too high. Thats a relatively small print run too so even if it meant less or no profit it wasn't worth the damage to his already radioactive reputation to just not deliver it and leave everyone hanging. You do the math on the other 7 or so late campaigns.

That's another reason to pre-produce product when you have the money to do so instead of waiting several years later and be blindsided by inflation especially after being warned that would happen.
Anyone with even the slightest business experience knows that you don't make your production problems the customer's problem if you want to keep your customers. I mean, this is stating the obvious. The correct move would have been to get them to the customers even if it meant reduced profits because then the customers would still be there for the next campaign. This is just an unforced error.
Eric dropped Yaira and it's already almost at half a million
And FROG can only seethe and nitpick. Sad.
One can only hope things escalate to gun violence.
Imagine Vito getting shot dead in a rippaverse fanatic drive by, now that would be amazing.
As a peace-loving man, the only violence I would support would be if EJ went to Riley's house and lynched him by the neck until dead for pissing on his pappy's grave. I'd say that would be a moral act, I would choose not to prosecute.

So how exactly does he not know what he's doing?
Make quality comic books.

He should leave that to other people and run the business, since he obviously is capable, but just like EVS, EJ has quite an ego.
That is why both have to create the story for their comics and why both create comic books with worse stories than the big two.
