We know it can cause loss of sexual function, possibly loss of fertility, increased risks of cancers, and in PBs a potential loss of IQ. If you are a doctor prescribing this to your patients, you should be pretty damn sure it’s going to help. Like chemo is horrible for the patient, but doctors prescribe it when they know it’s likely to save a person’s life. And they explain all of the possible side effects so that the patient can give meaningful consent.

If doctors were recommending something that didn’t have such severe effects, then it wouldn’t be such a scandal. If these “doctors” told gender patients to do yoga and practice mindfulness for three months, people wouldn’t care as there’s no long term damage from that treatment. It might not work, but the patients would be undamaged.
