The majority of people are retards that will buy anything that has a brand name on the box, all your deep thoughts don't apply to them. The issue is that gaming got too big for it's own good, it became too mainstream and now it's at a state where people don't care about the end product. Games like GTA IV were never a problem, and people didn't give a shit about the diversity in them because you only noticed it if you specifically paid attention to every ethnicity and nationality in the game.

Question: have you ever played Mirror's Edge? Can you pinpoint anything specific in the game that turned on the red lamp in your head? Or are you going off me praising a character using current day wokeness rhetoric and how this character was nothing like it? I played through Mirror's Edge the other day, I haven't found anything egregious about the characters, and the plot of a totalitarian city government was very generic without any specific political statements which was the closest the game got to political messaging.

Whichever approach you're trying to go with here is bound to fail if you want to put a dent in the current state of the video game industry. You're not going to appeal to the current general audience with a rhetoric like that because it's just retarded, and it reeks of /pol/tard levels of moving the goalpost to figure out the time of true whiteness, and they moved it so fucking hard they went back to caveman times.

And the problem here is not the character, it's Anita, and EA execs that thought she was a good person to listen to and base their decisions around. My point was that you can make a diverse character that's not shit, if you let competent people do the job. Anita is not competent, EA DICE back in 2008 was, but then Anita showed up and fucked everything up.

Also Mirror's Edge wasn't hard, it was annoying when you had no idea where to go at some segments, and it was incredibly fucking forgiving because if you died, you'd instantly respawn at a checkpoint with zero penalty. It's just Anita is a hack, has to constantly remind people that she's a gamer, even though DSP seems more competent in games than her. Blame the C-class executives for that.

I enjoy Jim's commentary as much as the next autist, but you also gotta remember he's the kind of dude who thinks it's a good idea to blow your girlfriend live on YouTube. He also bought into the coof, hook, line, and sinker.

Jim's inconsistency with his autistic ramblings toward the end of his (for lack of a better word) "career" during his streams always kind of put me off. He was more fun when he was going after the faggots over at "Something Awful", or just fucking around and mocking retards in general on the internet. The fact that he bought into the coof panic makes me sad though. I had no idea.
