I know for a fact many of them took thousands of USD from (mostly) Greek students to pass them for various exams at the univ, as the hospital and the university are basically linked, and most successful medics also have a teaching job there, with its own hierarchy (like Professor, Lecturer etc.) and its own bribes. And besides that they also work at private hospitals too, where they send the richest patients, telling them how a "special" procedure like the one they need cannot really be done in the state system, so why don't you come to us here, in private, and give 10K Euro for it instead?
All of that sounds more like a post-Soviet satellite state problem. The "60s-70s hags" have state jobs that makes firing them more difficult than it is in the USA. I can't speak to the corruption of giving your preceptors money to pass you through your medical education, because Americans are culturally unfamiliar with the giving and receiving of bribes. But what part of academic bribery do you think is solely due to the perfidy and mendaciousness of women?
As for recommending patients to go private for specific procedures... idk, their choice ig. I can think of several reasons you might want to do that. Maybe your public medical system is horribly incompetent in addition to being corrupt (and this is the fault only of the female staff, somehow.) Wait times for the free procedures would convince some people to spend the money to get whatever they need done sooner.

I wrote that comment 3 years before I had a child. At the time I was honestly scared of pregnancy, what the social consequences of that are, what would happen to my body during pregnancy, feared the pain of childbirth, and was anxious whether I could handle the responsibility of having a child. I had career aspirations that have since crumbled; at the time I was worried I couldn't have both the job I wanted and a family life. (And I guess I was right.) And I dealt with that by making some nasty r/childfree style comments here and there.
