That could be a reason for the divorce and for his son "taking over the business", but I don't think that ole Matt realizes that IF he wants to claim bankruptcy he will have to liquidate assets if they deny those bankruptcy requests like they have been. I think that the DA and courts recognize his clear attempts to maintain control over those assets and avoid having to liquidate them to satisfy certain debts to creditors.
- Vickers is doing a "tactical" play to keep his assets
When I first saw this pop up, my feeling on the situation was the divorce was to award the wife the home or the value of the home and probably split all savings ect. The son taking over with a new license and name is probably Matt selling the business for a small amount of money, so his kid isn't on the hook for a fuck ton of taxes and doesn't give the courts access to the money from that sale. I believe his thoughts after the sale is that he is going to remarry and then repurchase the old business back. Though Matt is too stupid to realize the court is already picking up on what he is trying by denying his bankruptcy so many times. Instead he is probably going to just get sued to oblivion by the creditors and forced to liquidate any and all assets that he owns. Courts might block the sale of the business as well or just freeze all of his assets until they go to trial. Which I really think that they should because it is clear he is trying to avoid paying his debts.
EDIT: Also hilarious how Cog wanting to prove how bad he is in the loop. Basic put something out there that people could forward to the court system in order to show that Matt is trying to evade paying his debts and taxes. Matt will probably be lucky if he doesn't get taken to court for tax evasion and possibly get like 5-7 years.
