At the time I was honestly scared of pregnancy, what the social consequences of that are, what would happen to my body during pregnancy, feared the pain of childbirth, and was anxious whether I could handle the responsibility of having a child. I had career aspirations that have since crumbled; at the time I was worried I couldn't have both the job I wanted and a family life. (And I guess I was right.) And I dealt with that by making some nasty r/childfree style comments here and there.
