Yeah if you pay attention to the actual evidence in the twitter thread, it's all about RedPanels. They definitely doxed RedPanels. The only thing tying RedPanels to StoneToss is those Japan tweets that are around the same time RedPanels was confirmed to be in Japan. I think it's just as likely that they're just friends and StoneToss was tweeting about RedPanels being in Japan.

Sure, but I wouldn't call them free, per se. They have a cost, always, and it's just a matter of who's paying that cost.
This directly causes that, however. Let's not forget that many websites are shifting towards only allowing e-mail addresses from the large providers. A better solution would be a passcode that can be used for account recovery, but that doesn't create this web of personal information like this, which is part of its purpose.

Almost all the RedPanels/StoneToss "connections" are behavioral profile type stuff. Other than the at least plausible Japan thing, it's basically they're both cartoonists with similar styles (and early StoneToss was very similar to late RedPanels), they're both cryptobros, they're both obsessed with circumcision. And those last two describe so many alt-right men it's unbelievable.
It's never been general knowledge, just general speculation. I think there's a good chance of it and this doxer has added a bit of potentially good inference to that effect, but it still isn't conclusively proven. I think if it is true it is likely to be confirmed in short order. If nothing more solid shows up I'd say it's still speculation, but speculation reasonably likely to be true.
