You'd be surprised at how little mothers can do sometimes. Even if she cut down the internet he could shitpost at the library, and there's often no way to force someone to get help if they don't want it. She strikes me as someone who has tried to get him to change his ways repeatedly, failed and doesn't know what to do anymore.
The fact that she's getting involved in this whole thing tells me she's better than Barb. Barb never really cared about the trolls or Chris's online antics.

I think it's more of she wants to find anyone else to blame and that none of it can be his or her fault. She barely acknowledges the horrible shit and evidence of his behavior and instead is trying to make it sound like people who aren't okay with his violent fantasies are bullying him.

Yeah, some moms have a hard time acknowledging that their kid isn't perfect. She probably doesn't see him like others do. I don't think she really understands the situation.
Because it might not be her fault he's such an awful person. A kid isn't around their mama 24/7, there are factors beyond parenting that affect how the kid grows up. I think she's mostly just another victim. She loves him because he's her son, but he's a godawful person and it must be hard to cope with it. I think she messaged null because she was afraid the thread might make her son seppuku.

Does anybody know much about how Swedish institutionalization or imprisonment laws work? The child porn alone would get Simon locked up in the U.S. I mean, yeah, it may be the case Sweden has bigger things to worry about, but given how obviously unbalanced most of Simon's posts have been, he may well end up being a big problem himself if something's not done about him.

When you google his name while excluding Kiwi Farms results, the first result is one of his videos. The Kiwi thread is his least worry internet-wise.

All he has to do is change his name and stay off the fucking internet, and take his ass to the unemployment office. It's free to change your first and middle name once through the tax authority, so long as you keep one of them. So, if my name was Sven Erik Mortensson, I could change my name to Hans Sven or Erik Hans for free and then mark "Hans" as my "use name" or the one that gets put on my post. A total name change is much more expensive; if you want to completely change your name it's like 400 USD.
