Well akshually…

I was encouraged to do gentle exercises within a week or so of the surgery which mostly involved raising my arm sideways. The idea was that this would stop the scar from being so tight that future mobility would be limited. It was not much fun but now the scar (while still somewhat tight and uncomfortable) does not limit my arm movement. From memory I think I was meant to avoid anything strenuous. Perhaps the guidance has now changed, but google suggests this course is still recommended.

Of course, the average pooner will probably neglect the work because muh dysphoria, and just chase the next surgical high.

Yeah you can and should be mobile but putting your arms higher than your shoulder is verboten for a good while. I think judging by the state of their scars a lot of them ignore this. Stretching above the head can put a lot of pressure on healing scars and drains.
I’m always amused by the ‘don’t lift anything more than five pounds’ line, as if a woman discharged with kids to look after isn’t going to have to lift something for a month… sigh

Utter lunacy. The fuckass apparently pushed a woman out of the way to get to the bathroom before anyone else, yet here this actual woman is on trial for seemingly retaliating on behalf of whoever the troon pushed. It sounds like the prosecutors succeeded in emotionally manipulating the jury and judge. It's possible the fact that the troon pushed someone themselves wasn't admissible in court. This shit better get a successful appeal.
