I think it's good for the media to show that chubby people can be sexy sometimes. And that we're living in a time when Megan Trainor, Rebel Wilson etc can get a bit of airtime. But saying they won't see a doctor who asks them to lose weight, that is wrong. Doctors aren't bothered about you meeting society's beauty standards they want you to get healthier.

Ugh, feeders. I don't know who's worse -- the person who wants to get fat, or the person encouraging thing. Imagine if you had someone who had a fetish for anorexics and wanted to help them starve? The outcry would be astounding. You're seriously just enabling an eating disorder. I got my ass chewed out over at Cracked because I told someone, no, it's not just "your choice, and it's between two consenting adults". If you're helping someone kill themselves (which is what this is), it's not fucking okay.

Unfortunately, you'd have to also make a lot of other vices illegal as well, such as drinking and smoking. A heavy-handed police state where disagreement is a crime is what the SJW spergs want.

No because that's dumb and wouldn't solve anything. In America of we had better access to mental healthcare and made it more affordable a lot of these types would be able to be at a healthy weight. Food can't ever be illegal and too many people choose it as their drug as a coping mechanism.

I can't help remembering a comic book I read over ten years ago (Common Grounds), which I think fits the mentality of the fat acceptance movement. In issue four the superhero, Knockout, enters a weight loss support group for obese superheroes, she finds out that any progress is thwarted by the support group's leader, Red Fox. He despises the idea of the group losing weight since it would be doing what the "thin fascists" want and those that do are "self-hating". (He demands that people use the term "dense" instead of fat.) Runs the support group at a diner that specializes in donuts to stick it to others and their perceptions on fat people. He wants to start protests towards fat acceptance, encourage the teaching of fat historical figures and celebrities in schools, etc. instead of giving the group what they need. Just like a FA, he ignores the physical problems that being really fat can bring (he can't even run around and fight crime like he used to) and how it effects being a superhero. In the end, Knockout tells him off and exits with the rest of the group, leaving Red Fox alone and realizing he has a problem.

If this story came out today, it would be very relevant since it perfectly captures the FA's behavior. And get tons of hate (no pun intended) from those people.

What pisses me off about "HAES" (and forgive me if I've mentioned this before) that the "size" part means to equal "fat". Anything else, fuck that, "who cares about those skinny bitches?" Even though said "skinny bitches" are often suffering from the same kind of insecurities they are. "HAES" is just another way of saying "I hate who I am"
