The Bad Thing: I can do that for a mixture of comedy and truth and not see any feedback on it, which kills the site.

I think its the "Retired Staff" thing man. It gives you a kind of gravitas that I think dissuades a lot of people from shit talking.

Definitely, way too many people still think it's like on plebbit or Resetera here where one wrong word to a mod, retired or not, means eating a permaban so they're walking on egg shells. I don't understand how the fuck places like RPGnet and Resetera still have a userbase left, the over-moderation in these places is insane, people on there get banned for the most minute display of wrong-think.

I was curious so took a look and the first post I clicked:

Did his post get removed or just the "Highlight" tag? If it's the latter he doesn't seem to understand the forum/highlight system, it adjusts over time and the amount of ratings. You can make a post as the first person on a new page, get one sticker seconds after its posted and it gets the "Highlight" status, three posts later someone gets five stickers on his post in quick succession, it is "Highlight" now. The part of getting a lot of stickers in a short amount of time plus other posters on the page having less engagement, for lack of a better term, on their posts is the most deciding factor when it comes to a post getting highlighted i think. Someone correct me if i got anything wrong here.

I love it how nobody who wants sticker notifications removed is capable of discerning the difference between a good and bad feature.
