What an absurd statement. He makes himself look like a fool adding that line about "they're not needed now". Kiev is struggling hard to hold the line and would absolutely welcome a battalion of French troops. Zelensky would 100% not agree with this statement if asked. Well, I suppose for political reasons he might say otherwise publicly but everybody who follows this war knows Macron's statement is false.

Macron could say "they wouldn't make a difference" with some justification but that's subtly different.

He sympathizes with the Ukrainian people, people he lived with. People he spent time with, ate with and explored their culture. When we speak of the war, we're not typically speaking of the people but rather the political.

Yep. I posted the video of the Ukrainian soldier from Odessa walloping the scum that beat him when he was conscripted a year earlier because we, or at least I, understand who did it, and why.

Just because I poke a little fun at you doesn't mean I hate you. If I saw someone in the Ukraine lovers thread say anybody who sympathizes with Russians is evil I'd roll my eyes all the same. But you? I expect better of you because I respect you. I understand why Russia does the things they do. They prioritize their own well being above others most of the times like most countries do. And often I agree with you on the things you say here and there. I sometimes find this thread the more realistic of the two Ukrainian war threads even. I just find your pessimistic outlook jarring given how optimistic you've been for Russia's prospect of something resembling a victory. It's not like any of us are going to go fight in Ukraine. Probably. Well, I know you and I won't.
I don't know if this makes sense to you but it mostly makes sense to me. All I'm saying is you're being overdramatic.

Ukraine is very serious about this offensive into Russia proper. Do they think it will relieve pressure at the other fronts, or do they hope they can take some Russian town so they are in a better position when they surrender?
It's also funny how MSM is spinning this as Russian rebels who are "liberating" them from ebil P*tler's tyranny. Like, nigga, they just spent the last 2 years kvetching about the DPR being hecking Russian bots and now they are trying to create their own kosher version? Jewish tricks are so blatant.

Remember, the "Russian Liberation Army" bit is just them playing the Third Reich's Greatest Hits again. OFC the original Russian Liberation Army was made of the old Whites, giving them a much, much better claim to be the "real" Russians than whoever these chucklefucks are. (So of course the Western Allies handed them all over to Stalin to be shot. But muh anschluss or something. )

The Ukraine continues terror bombings, killing children in their homes and playgrounds. 16 children have been killed in Donetsk since February 2024. Yesterday the Ukraine sent a UAV raid into the Belgorod and Kursk regions, which include Shebekino. A girl was nearly killed by shrapnel but was saved by her best friend; her cat Achi.

A cat accidentally saved his owner from shrapnel during shelling in Shebekino. He came to her, to ask for food and laid down by her head. Early in the morning of March 12, Shebekino came again under shelling and drone attack. Achi the cat was hungry and went to wake up the household. He went to Anna and lay down on her pillow, covering her head with his fluffy tail. At that moment the windows in the apartment cracked - shrapnel flew right into the room.

The family woke up and saw Achi covered in blood. The kitty took the blow on himself and were it not for him, the shrapnel would have hit the girl in the head. Achi was injured, but his important organs were intact. The hero cat was taken to the veterinarian and there they took the shrapnel out and bandaged him. Now Achi is doing fine; he is responsible and goes for his daily dressing changes and is on a special diet. Link, in Russian

And guess what Russian elections are starting today. I think anyone with single brain cell will predict outcome. But really funny part is that Zelensky "champion of European values" "defender of democracy" cancels elections, but dictator Putler has them.

Well, the choice is between Putin and four literally whos at the time when the country is waging a war against the entirety of the First World, so it really is not the time to change horses mid-river crossing.
