I get that many people hate Destiny and enjoy him being called names on air, but from what I've seen the people who act that way usually do it in lieu of responding in a substiantive manner. Glen Greenwald and Alex Jones come to mind.
It's great for clips that play to a pre-existing animosity, but makes them look intellectually dishonest in conversations.
Finkelstein seems like an elitist. Fair enough, I can understand getting mad at Tiny talking down to you about a subject you've dedicated your whole life to, but it did seem like Tiny's mere existence was making him angry. The only reason why Finkelstein's reaction is being well received is because Tiny is the recipient; it's fun to attack our little cuck. But Finkelstein doesn't seem sound of mind; he has anger issues and doesn't seem to be entirely there.
I think Tiny did pretty bad rhetorically all throughout the debate. He says "I hope people can see how unhinged he's acting", but people don't see that.
A large amount of the audience is already against Tiny from the beginning of the debate and Destiny acting nice and playing fair, or Finkelstein refusing to engage and acting like a subhuman, won't change their opinion on whether what Israel is doing is right or wrong.
It was a mistake of his to let Finkelstein dog walk him for two hours before starting to be more aggressive. Most people won't even watch past the first hour, let alone two hours, and it also gave Finkelstein the confidence to continue to talk down to him.
Tiny also completely failed at his stated purpose, to completely discredit Finkelstein, there were some good parts near the end in which he does "catch" Finkelstein in arguments, but again, most people won't even get there.
He also could have defended Benny Morris more during the first half. I get it, that this is his whole new thing; he acts nice and polite so he keeps getting invited to things.
If his goal is to network and continue to grow his brand, then sure, all his latest debates have been a success; more people than ever seem to know his name. But if he's actually trying to argue for what he believes, then he has failed a lot lately. All his "opponents" are arguing their actual beliefs and going all out on him, yet Destiny keeps cucking out because he doesn't want to be called a "debate bro". It's retarded. Sure, some manners are to be expected as the "stage" you are on gets bigger, but cucking out on what you actually believe because you don't want to take too much time or don't want to appear rude (when people already think you are those things) is braindead.
One last thing. Lately, when Tiny is debating, he does this thing where instead of actually making an argument, he simply asks a passive-aggressive question. Both he and his opponent understand what he's getting at, however, the point is completely lost on the audience or the people who get his point but disagree with him can simply say he's changing topics or pivoting (Norm did this once during the debate), making Destiny appear retarded and his opponent's name-calling and anger towards him seem justified. He just needs to ask the question and almost immediately get to the point, but he rarely does that. He could have done better; honestly, I expected more from him after being subjected to so many hours of him reading about this shit. Sure you made Norm look mentally ill, people don't care, he's an old man.
There is a middle-ground, between being aggressive and polite, I just think he has completely failed at actually finding it.
