Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

I'm hopeful for Stribog's new project, Indistinct Chatter.
However from what I understand, it's way more ambitious and he plans to release a single episode per year, with Episode 1 already being over a year old.

It seems very interesting, and with Małgosia's appearance by the end, it's possible that he wants to allure that Smile Guide were broadcasts from an alternate universe that manifested in ours by the Indistinct Chatter phenomenon.

To be fair, Stribog's work is unique, because as he said in the interview on public TV, he's an actual educated artist, and he got his education specifically in the modern culture. He wanted to make something that would become viral, and he did succeed, to the point where his work got attention outside of his target audience. He also mentioned that the series had no true meaning, because that led people to come up with creative interpretations.

Growing up in Poland, a country with a rich culture probably also helped a lot to create something unique compared to what the US culture creates and exports, but that's just my opinion.

Yes, it's all in Polish, obviously, and unfortunately there aren't any English subtitles. It's a very good interview where he goes in-depth into his creative process, his inspirations, his work and talking about his work for other artists.
I thought you said Striborg lmao. Sin Nanna at it again (feed Nana).

But I will say this, analog horror fans would have a fucking stroke if Alex Kister was like prime era GhettoASMR.

Nigga what were you doing beforehand to get you there? :cringe:
Crack

Lost media is zoomers being scared of searching something online and not getting instant gratification.
Is lost media supposed to be scary? I think the sentiment among the zoomers I know is more that it's really funny and ironic that Lost Media YouTubers act more dramatic about the lost Spongebob commercial than true crime youtubers act about murder cases.

I thought Skinamarink was a good analog horror thing.
Is that movie even analog horror? I thought that analog horror was supposed to be presented as something ment for mass consumption like the news (Local52) or educational tapes (Gemini). Even Mandela started with a police training tape. My main gripe with current analog horror is that creators have just reinvented found footage.

It isn't supposed to but it keeps getting lumped in with horror stuff. Probably because of all the creepypastas about spoopy lost episodes and youtubers like you mentioned trying to milk it hard for underaged views.

I know Mutahar used to do Dark Web Exploring and Virus Investigation series but I am not sure why he stopped.
Same reason why he stopped doing videos about interesting topics like Bisexual Billy. The grift of being a commentary channel takes less effort and pays off better.

For context, Bisexual Billy is/was his PC that ran Manjaro and could run a Windows VM with GPU passthrough, hence the "Bisexual Billy" nickname.
You can tell he enjoyed making this video because he's passionate about shit like this, but being passionate about something you like doesn't pay the bills in the modern YouTube hellscape.

Just get involved in the monkey torture seek and destroy group. Pretend navigating the animal welfare laws of a foreign country are some spooky ooky binary code you have to crack
I don't wanna play one, I wanna make it, I think that game-related ARGs have tons of untapped potential.

Personally, I think lost media gets lumped together with horror content due to the mysterious nature of it. It's not inherently scary to search for lost SpongeBob bumpers as it is to discuss strange unsolved disappearances – but rather, it can be kind of a disturbing, mysterious curiosity to know certain films can never be seen again, or that certain videos are permanently locked away from the public. Imagine knowing that a considerable amount of feature films have been permanently destroyed with no known copies, and any witnesses are long dead. As for the latter kind of lost media, I can definitely understand how it can be considered "scary" to know of the existence of tragic videos such as the Columbine Basement Tapes, Owen Hart's death, and Brandon Lee's shooting. In this case, it makes sense how lost media can be lumped together with horror, mystery, or true crime content.

Again, it's more than just lost SpongeBob bumpers from Nickelodeon: Owen Hart falling to his death in a wrestling ring is classified as lost media as well.

It's not absolutely necessary to have a coomer/tranny infested community as a content creator
The problem with this is, Trannies and Coomers generally don't make money or have jobs that make money. They are ideal consumers of Twitch and YouTube and I'd imagine are the majority of viewers of any channel. Secondary, the whole build a community was just a marketing ploy. The parasocial relationship with content creators of both sides is quite strong and frankly worrying; especially anyone demanding content they only consume and don't make.

How I envision some content creators actually feeling when speaking to their audience:

Ya I definitely see that, I actually do quite like the idea of searching for lost media in order to preserve the art and knowledge of past generations, I was just making a joke because I think the modern lost media community can be a little soy given how much attention stuff that's stupid (to me) gets as opposed to stuff that (to me) doesn't seem stupid. But I guess it's all subjective so I'm not gonna have a cry over it.

Honestly one of the reason some decent icebergs are a guilty pleasure for me (and great background content) is that if they are made well they include a sliding scale of topics, sort of like a more structured top 10.
I know some people think he is a fag but Blameitonjorge's compilations were decent for a basic introduction to some interesting prototype content even if i feel like the overly retarded horror presentation now became a meme, same with Wendigoon.

The same thing happened with Nosleep, it started off as a place to share scary stories that were written like personal anecdotes/stories before gradually devolving into a dumping ground for horror fiction that just happens to all be exclusively in first-person.
Ahh that name brings me back. I used to listen to Nosleep stories, even though I knew most of them were likely fake. I stopped listening to them because the quality of the stories began to degrade heavily and YouTubers kept reading the same couple classic Nosleep stories I had already heard before. The tipping point for when I stopped listening were two stories; one was a fanfiction about a racist Trump supporter murdering Mexicans or some shit and the other was transparent rape fetish schlock that all the gullible commentators took at face value.

This might be unrelated, but to this day I still think Squimpus could have weathered their own "grooming" drama if they just made more videos and pointed out "We were both underage you idiots, no one got groomed because I owned a spooky fnaf channel."
But he screwed himself over by sitting around seething over Battington outdoing all his shit before fucking off to Tumblr.

I wish I could remember what it was called but one of the most interesting ARGs I ever came across was the one where a half-machine, half-biological entity seemed to be waking up and sending signals from the deepest Mariana trench. It was creepy and was also a proper ARG with codes to solve. And code solving that actually made sense in the setting of the world and not just stuck in for fun.
I don’t know if anyone remembers that one. I don’t think it was finished but I haven’t heard anything about it for a couple of years.

I was holding out hopes for Liminal land, but I think they’ve run out of ideas. And it wasn’t a huge story or anything very inventive to begin with. They somehow managed to ruin it into a sort of Backrooms. There was Moloch. And then nothing. I’m not even sure if they’re still working on it.

Edit. Spelling.

It's time to begin the age of digital horror. Sopranos DVDs with commentary from Fairuza Balk (who appeared as the female FBI agent only in the VHS version), or James Gandolfini speaking from a post-mortem perspective on what the show meant for him.

Sad horror, heartwarming mystery, oddities.

We're in a disgraceful era.

When did we get to the point where there are minimum 2 pedophile accusations every week? Why do the accusations at most point to the person being like a 6/10 on the scale of sex pests? How have zoomers managed to completely remove the weight from the term pedophile so effectively?
I’ve been warning about this for years.

Was that Noc+10 by any chance?
