Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Reminder we wouldn't have Art the Clown today if mandela catalogue and wendigoon had their way. Art the clown is a modern day horror and indie filmmaking icon. Art the clown kills children and sexually mutilates women and men. Stuff that triggers the faggots of the analog horror YouTube community. Hell we wouldn’t even have Freddy Krueger.

Ahh that name brings me back. I used to listen to Nosleep stories, even though I knew most of them were likely fake. I stopped listening to them because the quality of the stories began to degrade heavily and YouTubers kept reading the same couple classic Nosleep stories I had already heard before. The tipping point for when I stopped listening were two stories; one was a fanfiction about a racist Trump supporter murdering Mexicans or some shit and the other was transparent rape fetish schlock that all the gullible commentators took at face value.
didnt they also started dcma'ing youtubers that didnt asked permission to read their stories?

You should, if you haven't before. It won't take very long to get through.

Do so, and then tell me it's not better than Mandela Catalogue or Monument Mythos.

It's actually pretty good, it has a tight focus but wide manifestation is how I'd put it. There's not really a lot of different stuff going on you just see it from a bunch of different perspectives and the story falls into place.
I watched both Local58 and Smile Guide and enjoyed them both immensely. I really, really loved Smile Guide for some reason. I love the aesthetics of Local58 a lot and as someone who has loved watching the news since a young age, it really itched a good spot in my brain. Part of me wishes we got more, but the other part is happy that it ended when it did because I could see it unfortunately becoming tainted if it kept on going.

I almost watched Gemini Home Entertainment but I wasn't sure if I would like it as much. I may give it a try this weekend.

What the fuck does this even mean
Had their way with what?
Enjoying one genre means no one else can enjoy another one?
You analog horror haters are getting weird and hysterical, man. It's just a genre some people like. It's not the end of the world.

Yes. Good job ignoring discussions of Alex kister sending twitter mobs after a creator because he demands horror to be less disturbing. Including liking endorsing tweets calling anyone who defends dark horror a pedos.

The anti-urbanspooks YouTube bandwagon are openly advocating censoring horror. Analog horror fandom probably are most pro-censorship among horror fans. That’s well documented on this thread alone.

I like Local 58 for the same reason I like listening to old Coast to Coast episodes, it reminds me of being a kid again. I don't care for the rest of this stuff. The Ring, FearDotCom, White Noise, and similar have already played the genre to death back in the mid-2000's I feel. A lot of it seems to be slow burn SCP ripoffs, the rest is simply boring and not scary. Old Goosebumps episodes are probably scarier.

The thing that drives me nuts, is that UrbanSpooks is genuinely a shit fucking analog horror, from a purely artistic angle. And yet instead of simply pointing out how bad it is, and how cringe Urban is for using extreme shock value as a crutch, then letting it fade into obscurity like a hundred other failed ARGs, they HAVE to go on their holier than thou progressive soap boxes and signal to the world how good of a person they are. I also don’t think Urban is a masterclass troll, he seems like any other MATI edgelord. It just so happens his spergouts unintentionally take the mask off people.

Nothing is off limits, just be a good fucking writer. It’s not too much to ask.

Those twitter fags are ridiculous. "reee horror shouldn't be disturbing, it shouldn't feature shock content, sensitive content etc" Nigger, since when did horror became a comfy safespace? Isn't being shocking and disturbing and stuff the whole point of it?

I blame the SCP fandom for starting safe space bullshit in horror, but the Analog horror fandom didn't help. FNAF is a story about child killings. You can’t blame mascot horror. Most mascot horror still involves child killings. Even Goodebumps and are you afraid of the dark did stories about dead kids? Somehow Creepypasta remain far less cuck than SCP and Analog horror.

It's all just punching down and spiritual gunt-guarding for their favorite horror creators. Borrasca exists as it does and nobody is going after the girl that wrote it, because nobody is going to pick an autistic internet fight they might lose.

Definitely worth to at least try it out. While I still consider Local 58's Contingency and especially You Are On The Fastest Available Route to be the best one-off analog horror videos, the rest of the series and story kind of fell short for me (especially Real Sleep with those retarded flashing faces).

Gemini Home Entertainment might not start out with such a bang like Local 58, but what I've loved is how the whole story and every video is interconnected, and every new episode supplements previous missing plot pieces instead of opening new unresolved threads. They even made a free video game to go with the series (one of the episodes is an in-universe commercial for it), so you can even have a break from simply watching the videos and play some vidya. Also a big plus is the fact that the series is still continuing (the creator is just a dummy, who doesn't backup his shit, so he lost a bit of work recently).

Anyone found any new channels worth watching?

You guys should check out modern (as in shit that takes place in the 21st century) call of cthulu scenarios and/or Delta Green for some interesting anal-log horror concepts, for halloween 2023 my group played a one-shot about a group of streamers that go to an abandoned island for content then "things" happen. If you don't like or actually play RPGs you can check out Seth Sorokowski on the youtube who does 75% review/25% recounting his group's playthrough of various scenarios.

Since videogames have been brought up, are there any good video game ARG/unsolved mystery channels?
I know about Oddheader, his early stuff is good but he's lately been a sellout and a soyboy. He's also been responsible for destroying retro consoles for "skits" at the start of his videos, as well as trying to stage an outrage over some cut content he found over on TCRF in one video(calling devs a bunch of pedos or fetishists over some debug stuff they left in, I don't remember)
I'm hoping to find a similar channel to his but with a lot less soy.

Speaking of videogames, are there any good video games that actually require some sort of advanced puzzle solving that could be considered an ARG to progress thru the story? I think the closest I can think of right now would be the Call of Duty Zombies series and their infamous "Easter Eggs" as well as coded ciphers(some of which haven't been solved to this day). Is there anything similar out there?

UrbanSpook’s thing is okay. Most analog horror isn’t really well made, even Mandella Catalogue is kind of cheap. Marble Hornets was made decent if we go back though. Maybe it’s because I am older but idk.

I blame the SCP fandom for starting safe space bullshit in horror,
>Tumblrites kick out OG writers and contributors of SCP because they were from chuddy 4chan

>Co-opt the whole project into a circlejerk of endless self-insert ocs and LGBTQ+ shit

>Say this iteration of the project is better and the community is now safer than ever since
all those bigots left

>Fast forward to 2022, one of the main admins that advocated this changes
turned out to be a sex pest interacting with minors

>Not even a year later, another giant community member that worked
on the animated series turns out to be a sex pest weirdo that animated a
music where the character just randomly rapes other characters

>Tumblrites, now Twitter rapefugees co-opt the analog horror sphere

>Alienate any people that produced "problematic" content to "make analog
horror space safer" with one of the head honchos behind big series approving this

>AGAIN, not even a year later the head honcho advocating for an "analog horror safe space"
and demonizing anyone that doesn't follow his formula, gets outed as a sex pest

Hey guys, I am starting to notice a pattern here

Say this iteration of the project is better and the community is now safer than ever since
all those bigots left
Well, they're not wrong. That is, the kids are now safer with them in their discord servers, where they can safely groom them to be trannies just like them, sext them, ask them for revealing photos, indoctrinate them into being addicted to porn, have them cut their bodies for the pleasure of the server owners, and most importantly keep the kids away from the chuddy 4channers who could do something problematic to them or irreversibly change their psyche. Or worse, turn them into racists, YIKES! Yep, they're much safer now, there is even a trans flag on every page no matter which article you try to read on the site. How much more accepting can one community get?
Horror? Who said anything about horror?
