Not sure the story of what happened but the eye patch itself is a complete larp. His eye is completely intact, he is blind in it but you would never know he was blind if he took the eyepatch off. He's actually legally blind in his "good" eye as well.

Seems like I touched into something interesting here. Basically, the fucker goes around with the eye patch to act like if he was fucking Nick Fury and if it was something properly badass we would have a detailed record of how he lost his eye while stabbing 3 guys to death. It's a fucking larp and he might just have had cataracts or some other perfectly normal shit happen to him that he is squeezing for all it's worth.

Turns out you're wrong on the first part, but if he's legally blind in his other eye, they probably figured Two-Eyepatch McCain didn't pass the muster with marketing. Though, I gotta admit, that would have been an excellent development in ClownWorld. Some jackass with two eyepatches from war going on TV to cheerlead Raytheon and Lockheed-Martin and more wars would have been very funny.
