Sam Hyde

I think Sam's stand-up is funny.
Meh, I don't think he would do well if he was just some unknown newcomer going on open-mics. I don't see the appeal of "oopsie, I said a naughty thing.". If there's something Sam's really good at, it's magically drawing people to himself that make him look funnier by proxy.

Stand-up is an antiquated medium to begin with though, so other than as a cash grab or for people like him that have a long list of burnt bridges, it's not even a space worth trying to enter in my estimation.

Sam’s new standup is funny. I saw him a bunch of times at open mics in pvd and Boston prior to world peace and it’s all performance art and good but I like what he’s developing that slightly more mainstream. It’s good to see tour dates in www.samhydelive.com

What’s Charls like live? He had never done real standup before so wtf does he do?
Nice ad.

Inappropriateness has been one of the core pillars of comedy since literally forever. An enormous number of comics made their entire career off of being inappropriate.

You can not like it, that's totally understandable, but the appeal is incredibly obvious.

Fair enough. True the breaking of taboos goes back to the very inception of comedy. I guess you could say there's a greater and lesser version of that and "Imagine you wake up being Indian." seems flat and unspired to me. It's not particularly offensive or taking a lot of courage to say, unlike other things he did and said previously, nor entirely playing it safe and there's no real point to it either.

I think Sam's comedy overstays its welcome by poking at sensitivies and having little outside of that going for it. Comedy isn't all about that, defying expectations is also massive and that's something lacking in my opinion, especially if people know who he is. It may just be that I'm not very impressed because it's very current day America, done with the knowledge that one wrong step would have his audience tear him apart, which isn't his fault. But there's a point to be made that it's better to be more rounded if that's your style.

Looks like Luis is back on the coke and may do a PGL with Sam and nick

it's kinda weird seeing sam genuinely trying to be funny up on a stage and not just being a troll, from the few clips I saw the audience seems to be enjoying it but as someone who has only seen his videos I would never watch his new standup, it seems unfunny and desperate. All he tries to do is make bold and shocking statements just for the sake of being edgy that are supposed to be "jokes", which probably only appeals to the portion of his audience that thinks he's some sort of saviour of the western world\comedy. It was funny to see him do that same stuff when he was in a place where no one even knew him and people had a funny reaction to it. But to see him do it in a place where everyone agrees with him is just not that funny.

In Sam's twitter post one of his stated tour cities was St Louis. I'm not sure we have any facilities here able to contain the World Trade Renegade Grenade but I appreciate him remembering we exist. STL doesn't get much love

Sam Hyde is way too prolific now for something like Paradigm Shift 2070 to ever happen again,
