That would prevent them from doing so if a company bankrolled it
yeah, clearly laws are mattering here

elsewhere the feds arrested some lawyer gal for flipping Dominion info to local cops

Stefanie Lambert, an election integrity attorney who has pressed for transparency in regards to Dominion Voting Systems, was suddenly arrested in Washington D.C. on Monday night.
Lambert was reportedly arrested by U.S. Marshals for disclosing allegedly confidential emails from Dominion Voting Systems in a Michigan court case.
“I gave the evidence to law enforcement,” she said. “The discovery (file from Dominion) contained evidence of numerous crimes. The Constitution does not permit secret Serbians to run our elections. Local clerks are to run our elections, & transparency is prevented by vendors (Dominion).”

To the last bit, I think this is going to send NY real estate into a panic regardless, at least until this gets tossed out by a higher court. It might even destabilize the entire country's real estate markets.
Watching NY slit its throat financially has been really interesting.
NYC is one bank panic or bank run away from all the dominos from falling over. Don't quote me on that number. But they're not that far from ruin.

I think you guys are all over stating the effect this will have on the NYC real estate market.

All the elites know that this law was aimed at Trump and Trump only. It was specifically crafted and done to punish Orange Man Bad for his evil deeds. Hence why no one in the real estate sphere so much as gave out a squeak about it.

They all sit quite comfortable on their piles of money knowing as long as they grift enough funds to the right people all will be well for them as long as long as they don't rock the boat.

You think all the monied types in the state of New York would just allow something like this to happen if they hadn't received all the promises in the world that this was a "one time only thing. Just to hurt Orange Man and no one else".

Yah, I may have a bridge to sell you if your interested. Good Deal but limited time only!

Well, that’s the thing. It won’t just be a one time thing and anyone with sense knows it.

There is a reason the person running New York had to come out publicly and admit ‘one time, I promise’ because everyone was shitting their pants.

Honestly feels like they were not expecting the outcome at all. And now have to deal with it.

They've already started doing the same thing to another company.

I really don't think they are that confident that they are safe. The state passed a special law to go after Trump, the Politicians tried to reassure investors that they won't go after any other company, then the AG immediately went after a meatpacking plant. Trump is the precedent, and they will follow through on that precedent.

arent they going after a meat packing company with the rules they changed? Promises from snakes are nothing good. They say they wont go after anyone, but they have shown time and time again to eat eachother alive when the purity test is failed.

EDIT ninja'd

NYC also has no economy besides Wall Street (and tourism) anymore. If a handful of top bankers/investors decide that they’d rather hang out in sunny, low-tax Miami, NYC would collapse overnight. Real estate and service industry businesses like restaurants, bars, and theaters (which make up a large percentage of NYC’s GDP) can’t function without a source of external income.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday dealt a blow to the Biden administration's attempts to keep the US border open - allowing Texas to enforce a new law giving local police the power to arrest migrants.

With three liberal justices dissenting, the conservative-majority court rejected an emergency request by the Biden administration which claimed that states have no authority to legislate on immigration.

The ruling means that Texas' law can go into effect while litigation continues in lower courts.

The law, SB4, allows police to arrest migrants who illegally cross into the United States from Mexico, and imposes criminal penalties. It also empowers judges to deport people to Mexico.
The dispute is the latest clash between the Biden administration and Texas over immigration enforcement on the U.S.-Mexico border.

A federal judge blocked the law after the Biden administration sued, but the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said in a brief order that it could go into effect March 10 if the Supreme Court declined to intervene.

Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar said in court filings that Texas' law is "flatly inconsistent" with Supreme Court precedent dating back 100 years.

"Those decisions recognize that the authority to admit and remove noncitizens is a core responsibility of the national government, and that where Congress has enacted a law addressing those issues, state law is preempted," she said, adding that the appeals court did not explain its reasoning for allowing the law to go into effect.

I really want this to happen, but his track record shows that even if he's reelected, he's going to be too pussy to do anything, whether he has the Executive power to or not.
Last time he tried to offer olive branches whenever he could and grossly misunderstood how winning the Democrats were willing to trample over the laws and processes of democracy. I'd like to believe he may be more assertive this time.

HE was completely new to it all the first time around. You can tell from his rallies and tweets and shit that he's pretty much at a "fuck you" stage with this now. I think if he gets in his main goals will be international trade, immigration, and eviscerating the DoJ.

A defamation lawsuit between Dominion Voting Systems and former Overstock.com CEO and Donald Trump supporter Patrick Byrne has descended into chaos after one of Byrne’s attorneys leaked evidence that foreign nationals remotely accessed voting machines used in Michigan in the 2020 elections.

The leaked evidence has been floating around social media for about the last week. The evidence includes emails between Dominion workers about voting machines being accessed remotely from people in Kosovo and elsewhere.
