The guy seems to almost understand the underlying root of his issue, but then misses it again. His problem is he feels like he needs to be in a relationship by lusting after a fictional girl instead of learning to be self sufficient and finding confidence within himself. Him saying he's doing NoFap on behalf of his waifu is like saying you want to give up being addicted to meth so you can spend more time being addicted to alcohol.
