Virginia alone is 5.75%. "Self Employed" tax for combined Social Security and Medicare is 15.9%, but the SSN caps out after the first almost 200k, but the medicares 2.9% has no cap (for real for real).So assuming austin makes between $235K and 600K for 2024 he will owe

In summary here's how bmj got here.
