of course they do, I never said they did not. I only said that I myself am not really empowered to confront Biden on his Israel policy, because I'm just one person, and I'm certainly not empowered to stop the War in Gaza even if I cashed in all my values and joined my liberal, Palestinian-loving fellow travelers. So what would you have me do? Set myself on fire? A couple people have done that already, specifically in protest of Israel's continued operations in Gaza, andPolitics have immediate implications for all our lives.
Because people like you (obviously not just you) refusing to face reality and clinging to their drug-fueled fantasy worlds, no change can happen in the real world.
I'm not really understanding the logical leap between "allowing people to practice their religion as they choose, within the bounds of the law of the land" to "Margaret has liberated herself from reality".People are too medicated, too fat (no personal jab, I swear), too scared.
I don't believe in "liberating" yourself from reality.
In fact, I kinda want reality to be smashed upon those running from it.
Maybe it was just retarded from me to expect a highly educated shitlib American to actually be consistent. In many ways, your kind is more intelligent than the chuds and populist rightoids.
Here's a bit of Talmud for you: "The law of the land is the law." Meaning: even though Jewish law permits honor killings and stoning gay people to death, since it is against the law of the land, then it's not permitted. Even if you're a heckin' valid Jew who all the other Jews agree is a Jew, you can't rely on Jewish Law to protect you from the secular justice system.
I think this is a fine model for religious tolerance; if you want to send your kids to parochial schools, fine, but they need to make the same standardized test scores as the kids in secular education, and if the school won't play ball, then the school will be closed. If you want your women to cover their hair, that's fine, but you can't publicly shave all the hair off their heads if they won't, because that's assault. I know you have this headcanon that Muslim refugees are here to perpetrate The Rape of The Sabine Women 2.0 on Europe, and while I think that's alarmist and xenophobic of you, I'll stand by you in opposing it if indeed the mozzies start breaking the law and kidnapping white women into sex slavery.
Yeah. When someone tells me to smile for a professional photo, the smile is more of deer-in-the-headlights grimace. I also have had at least one "professional" photo botched by someone in the company airbrushing it to add digital makeup to my otherwise un-made-up face. (One of the most questionable outfits I ever worked for.)To be fair the more candid shots put you in a better light than the "professional" looking ones, just something about the portrait photo look angle that disagrees with you.
