Sweet Baby Inc. and the Steam Curator Group Conspiracy - The company that is responsible for the diarrheic video game writing.

I wonder how Dragon's Dogma 2 is doing.

Oh, oh dear. This was the game whose basket that many AAA devs were putting all their eggs in. This was to be the game that both saves and justifies the AAA(A) industry. This doesn't look good. :story:

To be fair, those staff are completely correct. Who the fuck goes there for guides? It's woke pandering, that's their business model. It's fucking shit, and they know it.
My counterpoint is that for the first time it's not political. It's not pandering. For the first time these fucking assholes get to actually write about video games and what they do? Complain.

Sure, the company is telling them to copy/paraphrase other peoples websites and write guides but it's not like they cant learn to enjoy something and write their own things. I enjoyed whipping out my HOMM3 castle article. I would enjoy writing something similar about any game I liked. Imagine if they paid me for it. Imagine if they paid you to write about your favorite video game and a thing you thought of while playing it.

But these fuckers are told, "Your project is to write ways to be good at a video game, if you have to cheat and plagiarize the works of passionate people you're allowed." and what do they do? What do they do that they don't even have to try? Again, they complain. Instead of thinking of a video game, any video game to info dump on they writhe around like a slug in a salt pile. A bullshit guide doesn't mean shit but it does when it's written by someone who actually cares. Loves the game. There's people like you or me or anyone else who is actually passionate about some dumb video game who would love to sit and write about it and yet these fuckers roll their eyes and scoff at having to copy the work of people who care. They'll spout that it's the fault of the bourgeoisie without realizing they're talking about themselves.

Shit.

Give me my fucking tophats.

Make another thread for your inane seething, you dumb, soy faggots. No one cares that you can't get a date.
I hope she (whatever m'lady you are trying to impress) sees this, bro.

:lossmanjack:AAAsisters, not like this...

I'm a numbers sperg and I like watching lines move around, and while there hasn't been any big release that really flaunts their DEI/ESG/alphabet soup whatever-the-fuck since GamerGate 69 started the first big set of releases in general has rolled out in Dragon's Dogma 2 and Horizon Forbidden West's PC port:
ddd2.pngdd3.pnghfb.png
Horizon obviously isn't doing great but DD2 is selling like crazy, peaking at a combined 200k+ first day. For those who need a reminder, here's a cool list of shit Capcom's done in the past few weeks:
- Collaborated with tranny pornstar Sue Lightning aka Sphere Hunter to make officially sanctioned pawn designs
- Retroactively added kernel-level DRM to games over a decade old
- Went on a a schizophrenic spree against "brand damaging" mods (specifically bikinis for Street Fighter and bug fixes for Moster Hunter)

You may also remember the leaks from 2020 where they made internal memos about BLM donations, their snazzy new ESG compliance and mandating shit like avoiding depictions of haram foods (giga kek). I'm not even getting into the technical grievances, pile of microtransactions and the fact that Capcom is charging MORE for the digital version of the game that's led to DD2's shining 37% Steam rating either.

I'm reminded a lot of the Left 4 Dead 2 and Modern Warfare 2 boycotts; I see a lot of people who are loudly #GG buying Dragon's Dogma and yet when pressed on this their fallback is "but the Japanese are based" or just "I just want to play new games". With each passing day I lose hope in the average gamer's critical thinking and self-control I didn't know I had. Even ignoring all that and just focusing on Horizon, that it managed to eek out the sales it has is disappointing; if it weren't coming off the heels of Sony's own Helldivers 2 and up against DD2 it would probably have matched the original's PC launch. For comparison the original peaked at 50k and has 115k reviews, calculated to about 5.5 million sales.

I was just finishing writing this when I saw @PaladinBoo kind of cougar it, but I'm posting this shit anyway because I can, and I'm too lazy to edit it down. Sneed.

lmao, it's #NotYourShield all over again
"LOOK AT OUR FAGGOTS AND NIGGERS, DON'T WE LOVE THEM FOLKS?! OURS ARE BASED AND REDPILLED, NOT LIKE THOSE CRINGY ONES BEING SHOVED DOWN OUR THROATS!"
The GG general on 8/v/ unironically started lamenting not too long ago how "persecuted" Milo was during the original Gamergate, and how he is a "based faggot"
And obviously it has to be an anime avatar posting this stupid shit, not surprised.

Edit: @ThinkThankThunk You hit the nail on the head when it comes to these spergs loving Japan. Since I mentioned 8/v/, their Gamergate General specifically, I would like to point out that these guys HATE being told that Japan is woke. In fact, they made up an imaginary boogeyman called "Niggerpill" just for the purposes of being able to ban anyone who pushes wrong think or insults Great Nippon. Truth be told, people like them are probably the reason GG failed in the first place, just look at the drama faggot(Acidman) running that site. They simply cannot accept that Japanese companies are just as pozzed as Western ones, hell my current avatar came from Mark(8/v/ BO) getting triggered that somebody was telling him as such in a Resident Evil thread when the RE4 Remake came out.
Something tells me we will be getting a repeat of OG Gamergate with these people, it would be wise to call out their bullshit when you see it so they aren't going to tank everything again with their stupidity.

Man, Left 4 Dead 2 and Modern Warfare 2 boycotts are looking silly to look back on now. Left 4 Dead 2 hasn't had a sequel in over 10 years and any successor like EVOLVE or Back 4 Blood failed. COD? It's gotten so, so much worse(check out the game's thread), people today wish that it only got as bad as the devs simply removing dedicated servers when the SBMM algorithm(patented no less) quite literally rigs the games like a casino for maximum engagement with the in-game store. The game is unplayable, has horrible technical issues, quite literally came with no new maps and simply ported over the same ones from MW2 at launch(yes, the 2009 one) and the community around it died out within months.
Those two games are like crowned jewels of a bygone empire, and yet we used to have it so good that we thought we were being conned with them. You only appreciate something once you've lost it, I guess.

Just released yesterday and...it has been disastrous.
The release being bungled means nothing if a quarter million people are willing to drop $70+ on a game churned out by a globohomo mill who absolutely detest their consumers. Sure the reviews are negative, but so are Battlefield 2042's 260,000 reviews. They still bought it, the investment groups look at it and continue signing checks and the march of kulturterror continues.

Is Capcom as bad as some other companies? No, but they're all part of the same compromised model. Same kind of thing went through my head with Helldivers. It's a Sony IP and first-party title yet the amount of people I've seen talk about HD2's success like it's somehow an own on Sony is absolutely bewildering. Sure Arrowhead may not be big on DEI but Sony sure as hell is, Ragnarok and Goodbye Volcano High were the two Sony showcases that put Sweet Baby on the map in the first place. The lists are a nice sentiment, but words are cheap and I'm just not seeing the follow through on any of it.

I dunno, you tell me
gay woke crapcom extended jpeg.jpg
Don't you dare criticize them, they're Japanese(therefore forever based) and made some good games like 10 or 20 years ago, so they're untouchable to us GamersTM. In fact, I think it's time to spend 100$+ on the new Dragon's DogmaTM game right now, just to make sure that Capcom quarterlies don't get impacted by any haters refusing to purchase the game!
Also, I should add that the only reason anyone is still playing Battlefield 2042 despite it's horrific launch is because it is the least awful game to play right now, compared to Halo Infinite and Call of Duty. The game still flopped and EA more or less said they're putting the entire franchise on ice after this, or at least not considering it their priority anymore. It's joever, nobody at that company even knows how the engine works because all the people behind it quit EA.

>they'll reply with the same edited "proof" of some forced diversity conspiracy
>links an organization designed to protect the enforcement of diversity

... I've got nothing.

Well, I guess I do have on thing: there's been like five different ransomware leaks where there is in fact a forced diversity conspiracy.

Steam does have the refund option though.

I'm not sure if each game's refund data is even accessible to the average user, but if it is, I wonder what it'll show after the 14day period.

And nothing of value was lost...

I don't give a fuck about gamer gate, I just want one website to tell me about game announcements and maybe tell me about some little unknown gems, with maybe a retrospective every now and then. That's literally it.
bluesnews. just don't read the comments/forum.

If you can, get pictures of the rooms of those talks. If not, tell us how many attend. There's 19 main woke talks and 50+ less important ones. People are speculating these rooms will be mostly empty (or only have hipsters).
I read that, and immediately thought "imagine the smell" :stress:

And I guess it got too much for her.

And this is pretty funny, she went out of her way right before to block Boogie of all people. I wonder if it's because he's been ragging on Anita's panel a million years ago lately.

ETA and as pointed out later in thread, looks like she was chainblocking en masse.

ETA looks like she only privated the account overnight, back now.

Most of the negative response to DD2 has to do with the performance and perceptions of how the game's monetization works. Bugs can be fixed, performance can be improved, the DLC isn't as bad as it initially appears. But no one is complaining about wokeness at all, and that's not something that can be fixed in a post-launch capacity even if it were the reason why people were upset.

I don't own the game myself but seeing some complaints about the offputting frequency of black NPCs. One guy said it feels like over half the NPCs with more than two lines of dialogue are black. Get a quest from a black knight to help some guy who happens to also be a black knight. But this isn't really the same as a frontloaded woke game that wears that label proudly, most Japanese games have this shit snuck in via the backdoor by all these cancerous consultancy groups in the first place that use the corporate structure to enforce diversity mandates and shit. It's less "we're gonna make games more diverse to show the chuds!" and more "well, our numbers say you need more diversity for games to sell in the west so we're going to make that policy going forward."

>I am not like the other girls, I am punk! Tee hee!
So, this is another Zoe Quinn situation where she is a "gamer" in a sense that she pretends to be one while she sucks dicks for positive industry coverage, right?
Inb4 she drives another indie dev to suicide and tries to claim she's part of the legbutt community to deflect criticism.
(Honestly, though, history may repeat itself, but I hope it doesn't repeat that well)

Why the fuck did Capcom think it was a brilliant idea to sneak microtransactions into an action role-playing game? This shit didn't fly with gamers back when Dead Space 3 fucking came out. :lossmanjack:
