Main complaint I’ve seen that aren’t DLC freakouts is the game doesn’t run great unless you have a high end computer.

Capcom is what I file a "mood swing" company. They can dump a couple of winners and then a couple of gigantic turds without much of a warning. This is the same company that had the shit show that was Street Fighter 5 (and from what I'm hearing, SF6 after the grace period passed) yet also launched and supported the Monster Hunter games which are just pure content (yes, they also have their microtransactions, but they never gate monsters outside of the big expansion). I see Dragon's Dogma 2 got fucked over with too much of the stupid wing of capcom between being extra predatory and obsessing about DRM which seems to be hurting performance here and there.I really dont get how Capcom operates, so they make a fun DMC5 game, they release good remakes of the RE games aaand then they pull this shit. Is it because Dragon Dogma 1 wasnt much of a banger? Like, I don get this almost schizo mentality they're having.
Yeah, this is the really disgusting shit. Haven't seen a "hype to bottom" reaction to a game that I considered legitimately to have potential like with this one. Definitely will not buy it unless it's on a sale and even then we shall see, as per usual, I still have a shit ton of games in the backlog. We'll see in a half a year to a year when the DRM gets removed and suddenly performance isn't ass and mods can do the needful.Keep in mind this came after the game released.
These niggas waited for y’all to pay full price and then fuck you over.
Kill all triple a developers and games journalists.
It really does feel like these companies see "consumer good will" as a cashable currency.Capcom is what I file a "mood swing" company. They can dump a couple of winners and then a couple of gigantic turds without much of a warning.
Yeah, that's a perfect summary. They seem to think they have gotten enough good boy points with a few projects that they are allowed to be scummy as fuck in the next one, only to be surprised (again) when it slaps them in their face. And DD2 is the worst game they could have pulled this stunt with since it's a relatively niche game with a small cult following, this is the sort of game you you need to let it speak for itself without unrelated shit ruining the experience. It really does feel like these companies see "consumer good will" as a cashable currency.
Counterpoint, people should spend time criticizing something logical instead of something utterly baffling like not having immediate access to a feature already in the game. You should not have to delete your fucking save files to edit your character. The average user should not be expected to dig through folders and clear Steam Cloud because they don't like how their character looks after 30 minutes of gameplay.
Whoa there! Cool it with the cum guzzling my man, it's fine to be happy for a sequel to a game you loved, but lets not act like if the whole "your character is locked forever unless you pay the toll" isn't absolute bullshit insanity. Also "it was worse in 1" isn't the own you think it is.Counterpoint, people should spend time criticizing something logical instead of something utterly baffling like not having immediate access to a feature already in the game.
What did Dragon's Dogma do by comparison when it came to microtransactions?Everyone complaining about microtransactions must have been living under a rock for who knows how long. DD1 microtransactions were worse than this.
No. Criticizing the existence of MTX in a $70 game is completely fair.Counterpoint, people should spend time criticizing something logical instead of something utterly baffling like not having immediate access to a feature already in the game.
I've seen countless retards excuse it with "but you can grind for it in game" which is the kind of mental retardation that has lead to the current situation we're seeing. Game developers bitched and moaned and stamped their fucking feet that $60 wasn't enough and empty-headed wallet warriors defend their favorite company as if they're on the payroll.but lets not act like if the whole "your character is locked forever unless you pay the toll" isn't absolute bullshit insanity
Oh I see, this is your first RPG. Carry on then."your character is locked forever unless you pay the toll" isn't absolute bullshit insanity.
Literally the same thing plus armors with incredibly powerful stats, items so ludicrously overpriced that they broke the economy, and weapons that were the best in the game for certain vocations. Basically skirting the edge of P2W. PC release had the RC market removed and items bundled into the release so you would never have experienced this if you played much later than initial release. Anyway, that's sort of beyond the point, which is that ridiculous microtransactions from Capcom and literally every other AAA publisher have been standard for over a decade and complaining about them at this point like it's something new is just beating a dead horse. Literally just pirate the game or do whatever else you can to not give the company your money. The song and dance of complaining about DLC while handing your cash to the publisher has never fixed anything. People brigading the steam page with neg reviews that tell no one about the actual game itself will do anything either. Incredibly futile effort. What did Dragon's Dogma do by comparison when it came to microtransactions?
The fact that the character is Locked even if I delete my save file and create a new one is the insane part, last time I checked, I can create a new character in a new save file any time I want in pretty much every game under the sun that allows character creation. This is the first time I've seen this level of pettiness about it and it's certainly not something I expect from the RPG genre even the older ones.Oh I see, this is your first RPG. Carry on then.
I'm apparently in the fortunate minority to get really consistent frames, although it still hovers around 80 for me, which is fairly lower than usual. It's funny, because nobody has actually got to the actual game complaints yet. We're not even at that point.
(HINT: it's DD1 without Dark Arisen A.K.A. the best part of the game)

I was expecting them to learn from fucking online or the least fucking dark arisen OR AT THE LEAST BRING BACK INTO FREE.It's funny, because nobody has actually got to the actual game complaints yet. We're not even at that point.

That's a wrong question to ask. This is the same studio that gave us a poor RE4 remake despite the original being available on every device under the sun, mobile phones included...while not giving us a new Megaman game in years. They didn't even add the spellcasting mechanics in online too. Why the fuck did they sell it as a new game instead of dlc for the first game?
lol.Simple answer is because they know you will buy it on brand name alone, and they're right.
That's very debatable at this point in timeAs I write this, Capcom's new ARPG Dragon's Dogma 2 is now officially playable on PC through Steam
