It's not just the natural desire to rubberneck and gape at the carnage, but that is definitely part of it. I find Kiwi Farmers tend to be interested in the why, not only the what. I think that's the difference between this community and other griefers; the institutional memory (literally, the community writes all this stuff down) of the actions of a given cow, conjecture as to why they do what they do, get in there and really thunk about what makes this person tick.

I find that interesting. I always have. I don't think this motivation is inhuman, or evil, it's natural. Human beings are given to gossip, to rumor, to trying to figure each other out and pin them to a role. Watching the town imbecile be weird is amusing, and entertaining. I won't deny that, I just think it's cruel when the whole shebang comes full circle and Chris-Chan is living in a real life version of The Truman Show.
