I've have said it many times in real life and I will say it here. There is nobody who hates men of their own race more than liberal white and liberal black women. I don't see a reason why you can have a best of both worlds approach when it comes to female and male characters. A game I think that does that well is Black Desert. Sure, the game is heavily monetize to hell but I think it does a good job of having a best of both worlds approach. If you want to make a ugly or beautiful character you can. I don't play the Fire Emblem games so I can't comment on much but they removed the waifu petting minigame and that was a big deal. With Xenoblade 2 they basically rewrote the script and removed all the depth and nuance and the entire romance plot while adding their own fanfiction. Xenoblade 3 avoids gendered language at any point they can and made one of the characters a tranny, also voiced by a pooner, and in the DLC they changed a character that is supposed to represent the jungian Anima of a character into a lecture about them being non-binary and using they/them pronouns.
