I shall amend my statement then, to "every part of her brain except her brain stem is not functioning, they got replaced by cysts."

I still personally consider her dead and her body just has not been allowed to wither and pass on. (like removal of a feeding tube since she can't fucking swallow on her own at all)

All you'd know is pain. I think this was in reference to Kayli, but not sure.

I read this last night and I keep mulling on it - is this true? I've been placating myself in thinking that Luna can't feel anything, really, but since her brain was slowly replaced by cysts I'm worried there's enough matter there for pain. This is not true. The spinal cord sends pain signals from the nerves but if there is no thalamus the signals cannot be processed. Sensory signals have to be sent to a few parts of the brain none of which I suspect luna has.
