Is the mainstream non-gaming media talking about gg2.0 much still? I remember during 1.0 it took up the news cycle for weeks but I haven't seen as much about it. What do you think? Is it over? Is it just getting started?

We haven't got the SBI Law and Order episode or anything on that scale yet, and the MSM is currently focused on other things like the bridge collapse, the war in Ukraine, and the war in Palistine.

The increasing irrelevancy of game journalism makes it heard to judge. They don't have the reach they used to. The best they've managed so far is getting some MSM jounros to comment on social media.

If I had to guess, we'll not see the MSM escalation like we saw with GG as part of the strategy is to not talk about it, since doing so brings attention to SBI. But as for these consultancy companies, we're seeing the start since the money is running out, and they're going to meltdown more and more.

If Mgtow wasn't getting attention, no one from both political sides would have cared about Passport Bros. My 2 cents on the Overwatch 2 topic and the release of Venture, the non-binary that will always remain an ugly woman in my eyes, I cannot be fucked to refer to her as "they/them". Since Venture has been uglified (she didn't look this goblin-like in her concept art), we can clearly see that Blizzard treats her as a woman so they gave her the uggo bat.

When Soldier 76 was made gay in a comic out of nowhere, one has to think back to the time it happened. Blizzard was in the middle of the whole BlitzChung fiasco, making it very clear that they give not a single fuck about Hong Kong and would rather bow down to China. To distract the masses, they turned Soldier 76 gay, with little success.

So what is happening this time that Venture is "FINALLY the REPRESENTATION that NBs needed for years, yas slay kween!"? Well, Blizzard admitted that any sort of PvE content coming to Overwatch 2 was cancelled. After they cancelled the PvE campaign with skill trees etc etc, they opted to release smaller PvE missions with regular hero gameplay. Apparently people didn't buy a pack of four missions for 20 dollars after being disappointed by the cancellation of the real campaign, big shocker.
Oh, but the cancellation of ANY PvE content wasn't all, no no no. Their skins with the most level of detail and creativity, called "Mythic Skins" have been skins that feature slight variations, so like 2-3 different styles wrapped into 1 skin so you can have some variety I guess. Whatever, now those skins are no longer part of the Battlepasses, but will be sold seperately at 25 bucks per pop. A map and new game mode they teased around 1-2 years ago is also still MIA. Finally, I think they also said that updates will slow down further, though I am not 100% sure they said it outright. They probably hid this little fact in corpo-speak.

So yeah my NB Overwatch xisters, enjoy your pandering while the company you oh so love is admitting to keep the game a "minimum viable product" for the next years. Enjoy those slight balance patches every 2-3 months, regular overpriced skin releases and 1 hero per year updates. I hope the game never dies so the mentally ill retards can stay in that cesspool of a game for eternity and not shit up other communities.

Overwatch has added its first "non-binary" character. When Overwatch 2 launched, it became free to play but sold cosmetics and new characters in its battlepass. Coincidentally, with the addition of this character, Blizzard announced heroes will no longer be sold in the battlepass and all heroes will be free and automatically added to everyone's roster. Gosh, I wonder why they made that decision now and not with all the other new heroes?

Raising The Bar: Redux

I tried it and played it for an hour or two, and man this is great. The HL2 Beta always felt more right, more oppressive, where in retail you didn't feel that humanity was fucked, and this mod does a fantastic job at reimagining it with a good level of polish. Too bad it kept the cut "Kleiner dies at the beginning" concept because it was always shit.

It also has a bunch of hard scripted elements that feel way too unorganic, like some Metro cop that stands around and does nothing, or a citizen that leans on a wall and has zero interactivity. There's a HL1-esque HUD with a separate flashlight (albeit infinite unlike in HL1) and it has MMod-like gunplay which is fantastic.

It's nice that they're trying to veer more towards the modern side of things rather than going balls to the wall with the 2003 beta feel and play.
