Jim Sterling / James "Stephanie" Sterling / James Stanton/Sexton & in memoriam TotalBiscuit (John Bain) - One Gaming Lolcow Thread

It burns him that he got so close to a million before sliding back down. He trooned out when the million finish line was in sight.
It burns him on multiple levels, actually. He saw trooning out as a free ticket to 1M. In his mind, this was a slam dunk because heckin' cute and valid individuals are HECCIN PERSECUTED and as such everything ever should be just automatically handed to them on a silver platter. There was no way this could backfire. As it turns out trannies don't really give a shit about other trannies unless they can somehow make themselves the center of attention. Any attention. Troons saw no personal benefit, regular audience became alienated and/or disgusted. Fast forward to videos plummeting to what, 70k views now? Makes you wonder how deep is he willing to sink before admitting it was all a mistake. Sadly even if he does, there's nothing to piggyback off of anymore. DigiHom is gone (and they won in the end), TB is dead, Yahtzee despises you as does Sid, probably. The only solution might be to roll off a cliff.

For those who didn't know this guy isn't some random twitter user, he's a youtuber that in my opinion makes really good and high effort videogame analysis.
Generally gaming youtubers tend to be non-confrontational unless someone's already getting cancelled so it's weird to see one go in hard with the steel chair.
He's one of the smaller YouTubers for gaming content I'd recommend. Assuming you like longform content.

This isn't too out of form for him though. He's pretty willing to just state facts. I can hear him delivering this with the same tone and cadence that he uses to explain a gameplay mechanic. He's also just willing to rip into basically anyone if he sees an opening, and if you look through his Twitter you'd notice a slight undertone over how much he's sick of wokeness in gaming.

Jim never reached 1 million subscriber on youtube, but his sizzling hot take has gone past a million views and just look at how horrible those stats are for him. Its pathetic that Jim can't even muster a thousand fans to like his garbage opinions.

In his retarded Breath of the Wild review, he stated that he was "regularly getting one-shot from full hit points in decent armor," which is something that literally can't happen due to a hidden mechanic. His journalistic integrity is as honest as his preferred pronouns.

It can happen... to enemies you're not meant to fight yet. So if you face Black/Silver enemies (especially Lynels) with only okay armor one dungeon in, you're going to die.

Get rekted Jimbo.

Just to really drive the point home, the Kiwi Farms announcement about the Epik retraction has twice the likes, despite the account having 16k followers and the tweet only having been viewed 51k times.

You can see similar engagement on Dear Sneeder's personal account, with the hiatus announcement (again, on an account with 16k followers):

Maybe this is an anomaly, though. These are pretty significant announcements, after all. How does a regular Jersh tweet fare?

Oh no. No no no. Sterling Sisters, where did it all go wrong?

I'll give Jim benefit of the doubt on BoTW because I beat the 4 big dungeons and Ganon without realizing there was an armor upgrade system. The endgame enemies hit like a truck and I just thought that was fitting for endgame enemies. Then from there it only takes slight hyperbole to claim you're getting one shot.

Jim, please do something retarded.
You mean, apart from the existence he's living now kek

Also perhaps a controversial view, I think its perfectly fine to talk about micro transactions and gambling in gaming, I think the annoying part is where things can be said in 2 minutes he stretches out into 18 minute videos, and in those minutes doesnt actually elaborate on the issue (I mean though, not much to elaborate on micro transactions really) to give some sort of illusion hes actually spent time doing research.

And again, actually, this would be fine if he was doing that for free. The fact he has the gumption to whine about losing subscribers when hes also getting really good money to basically flesh out what amounts to a single tweet into videos too long for their subject matter, he just comes across as a spoilt child.

I play games but dont really follow the online stuff, after watching a few of his videos, yt recommended other gaming channels and I was surprised by other news and drama in the gaming sector that was going on and it really brought home, by contrast, just how bereft of current information his videos lack which he could cover were he bothered. He's really lucky he still getting paid when there are other channels putting up videos on current topics, also covering the ones he does for much less monetary support and in some cases none at all.

I don't quite understand - do you mean you can cheese OP dungeons by going in underpowered, or that you'll be one-shot for trying that?

I think you mean the latter but accidentally wrote the former, but I know nothing about Zelda games - I played Ocarina of Time, hated it and haven't paid much attention to the series since.

Edit: Correction - OOT initially written as BOTW.

You're not a game journalist, though. It's not your job to review games, so you can be forgiven for missing or not understanding stuff.

Jim makes a preposterous amount of money and yet he can't be bothered to do even the bare minimum to research or fact-check the shit he spews. Worse still, when he is shown irrefutable evidence that he's wrong he still refuses to capitulate, either out of some childish sense of spite or because he's too lazy to edit what he's already shat out.

Actually, it's probably neither of those things. It's likely because he realised pissing off the Nintendo Defence Force is one of the few things that still draws people to his channel in significant numbers.

No, it can't. I said "with decent armor." You have to take double your total health + five hearts, which will never happen with decent armor, like he claimed it did.

What probably happened is he just fucking outright lied in his shitty review, but it's possible he was knocked down a hill and thus was reduced to 1 HP before taking roll damage and dying. That is the only way it can happen with decent armor.

Because referring to someone as “they” existed long before trans pronouns did, calm down.
So you're referring to Jim with they pronouns not because he's trans but because of some other reason?
I'm also now placing my bet that next week's JQ is going to be called 'Dragon's Dogpile 2'.
I think lying about things you dislike has become quite a commo and accepted practice among online "journalists". I don't remember to what extent Jim was on the Palworld hatetrain but I think that was the first time where I saw this normie-net trend of lying about stuff seep into games-discussion. Traditionally, its been much harder to lie about games online because you were very likely to have someone nearby who could call you out but now it seems both sides of the retard-war are ok with it as long as their team is winning.
