Zena doesn't have a job anyway due to health conditions.
Poppy is currently out of work and very unlikely to ever get rehired by their previous employer.

Wouldn't this be the perfect time for them to move to Indiana, since you can't move to Michigan due to work reasons?
Wouldn't now be literally the best possible time for them to take the dive if they actually see you as a valued and cherished member of the polycule as opposed to a hanger on? I mean if it doesn't happen now it never will, right?
