RIA news agency said at least three people in camouflage clothing had opened fire at the Crocus City Hall, and that some people had been wounded.

Police had arrived at the scene, RIA said.

Video footage published on Russian social media channels showed chaotic scenes, with a large crowd of concertgoers attempting to flee the hall, followed by gunshots.

Other video footage showed a number of people lying motionless in pools of blood outside the hall

Reuters was unable immediately to verify the footage.

TASS news agency reported an explosion and a fire in the building where the shooting took place.

The Kommersant newspaper posted footage online showing smoke billowing from what it said was the concert venue building.

The problem is that "torture" or "cruel and unusual punishment" is defined differently to a lot of people.

For the average third worlder, they must see the Russian police as being too polite given the suspects are not missing legs or fully disappeared by being dumped into an acid bath.

For the average Western shitlib, pursuing an armed suspect is considered torture or cruelty.
Did you just call Russians third worlders?
No insulting and crude remarks about Putin, Russia, its past iteration as part of the USSR, and of course, the peoples of the Russian Federation. And me. Right?
This place is fair game, as it’s not in either of the Happenings hugboxes.
  1. Putin is a sucky leader, and this current war is turning into Russia’s version of Vietnam
  2. Russia should accept westernization, instead of fighting against it
  3. The USSR was an utter disaster, and if not for the US helping them out in WWII and the Warsaw Pact, it probably would’ve collapsed earlier
  4. The Russian people deserve better than having mobsters run the government, and the 2024 Russian election was rigged

Were they though? They were better at using social media and fighting in the autistic thunderdome that is Syria, but they didn't promote anything worse than the other terrorist organisations and as far as I'm aware didn't do shit like kidnap schoolgirls to be sex slaves like Boko Haram.
I can tell you more about this if you're curious.

There are a few differences:

Al Qaeda wants a state within set borders that practices Sharia law. Sharia law, according to them, would have to be done with the consent of the population.

ISIS wants to "remain and expand" into every human settlement on earth, killing the inhabitants, enslaving the women and children while making them Muslims. Consent of the population is irrelevant to ISIS when it comes to administering Sharia law. They also don't want to live in a world with countries and borders, so the idea of a border is out.

The border issue alone puts them at odds with all other jihadist groups and was the reason they never formed military alliances, while al Qaeda did and was ultimately more effective in Syria after 2018 as a result.

While Al Qaeda sees their goal as going back to how thing were in the 7th century, ISIS says it basically has to make up its own thing in order to run a modern state. So they innovate and do a bunch of crazy things that other jihadists would see as extreme even compared to their own customs.

When bin Laden wrote a letter to The Guardian in 2002 explaining why he was attacking us, he made it sound like he had reasons other than, "because you're not like me." Who knows, since he was a murderous nutcase, but it kind of sounded like if we had decided to cuck on a large scale and change everything he outlined, that he would no longer have reasons to attack us and he might stop. ISIS, on the other hand, is not like that. Existing on earth while not practicing the same insanity they do is reason enough for them to want to kill you.

Edit to add: in the Muslim world, a big difference is the groups differing views on sectarian violence. Bin Laden's deputy and the architect of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohamed or KSM, is a Shia.

When Abu Musab al Zarqawi launched the organization that became Islamic State of Iraq, a cornerstone of what he wanted to do was attack Shia Muslims.

Al Qaeda's leadership was quoted at the time saying that they didn't understand the reasoning for attacking Shia, no matter how many times it's explained.

Akchually at this moment Russian losses are roughly on par with American losses in the Pacific Theatre of WW II, in both men and materiel. Though that was losses the US took to defeat Japan, while Russia suffered these to fight Ukraine to a stalemate.

Evidence of Ukraine involvement:
- The terrorists were captured south of Moscow and Ukraine is south of Moscow.
That's literally it.

In that light:
Already after the tragedy, some media did not rule out the version that the terrorists were going to flee to Belarus through the Bryansk region. Alexander Lukashenko categorically responded to these assumptions: "They could not go to Belarus. Their handlers (we have suspicions about some of them, I'll call Putin and tell my suspicions) - they realised that they couldn't go into Belarus. Because in the first minutes, just as in Russia, part of the region went to a heightened security regime, so did we. The KGB chairman (he is in charge of anti-terrorist measures) reported to me in the first minutes. We put our units into action according to the most combat situation". In particular, the forces of the Interior Ministry were involved, checkpoints were set up on the roads, including with Russia, the KGB, the State Border Committee, some units of the military were involved. "That's why there was no way they could enter Belarus. They saw that. So they turned away and went to the section of the Ukrainian-Russian border," said the head of state. The detention operation, according to the President, was very solid.

Isn't it just ISIS saying the quiet part out loud? It's not like Islam ever stopped with the goal of being the singular religion, they just keep infighting and only occasionally attacking other countries to appear as if they are working towards a global goal.

To be fair to Obama, at the time and even today, ISIS was considered extreme even among the other Haji terror cells, to the point even al-Qaeda is an open war with them and to the extent that even despite two years on the current Ukraine war, ISIS is like one of two things every country will find common ground on

ISIS is basically Al Qaeda with zero sense of PR or self preservation. They make the Taliban look like Spock. Even the craziest most unhinged cults take some steps to try to look good and win over people if only to get an advantage. I seriously don't understand even if you are the most radical extremist young man in some shithole country who wants to join up to some terror organization to bash infidel skulls. How you could think 'piss off as many people in as many different groups and sides you can in as spectacular a fashion as possible' is a viable long term career. How can any leader with a brain adopt this strategy? Its really surprising that they're even able to pull off these stunts with how braindead they appear to be.

They're just religious zealots, so much so that they're predictable. It's not a bunch of random madmen sewing anarchy across the globe. They have motives and goals.

Successful insurgencies rely on winning the hearts and minds of the locals, not your enemy. Its impossible to police a territory without some degree of consent and support from the people there. I think you underestimate how popular the death to the West message is in the middle east.

Either way, I dont believe the shooters were religious zealots. The highest honor for a Muslim militant is being martyred. These guys are retarded but they clearly didn't plan on getting caught or being killed. Money is worthless when you're dangling from the end of a rope.

I came across a video showing the shooting from another angle.

Also, it appears that it wasn't a terror attack, but a strike at a legitimate military target (by the standards of the Russian military anyway).
On the death of a GRU special forces officer in Crocus City.

Two bullets in the stomach, one in the face... These are very telling wounds. He did not run, did not hide between the rows, curled up in the fetal position, did not instinctively cover his head with his hands. He met death eye to eye ...

Colonel Timur Myasnikov, a native of the 3rd GRU Special Forces Brigade, came from the SMO on leave. He went to the concert with his wife and son. They left their daughter at home. He understood what was going on at once. Experience. He fought in Tajikistan, Kosovo, Chechnya, Syria, Ukraine...

for fucks sake not everything is a government false flag or a cia conspiracy
sometimes a mudshit is simply a mudshit

The I in BRICS is Iran.
Russia is a patron state of the jihadis.
There has been no pattern of jihadi attacks leading to this one, and the explanation makes no sense because of it.
It would be like blaming BLM for an attack on George Floyd's family.

It greatly depends on "which" people. As the Soviets and later Americans didn't have much trouble holding Afghani population centers i.e. cities but had trouble with the lower populated rural areas surrounding them.

ISIS claims responsibility for every terror attack made by brown near-easterners. They're like a reverse @Bryan Dunn, whereas he says he's friends with internet daddies in order to bully other retards into submission, ISIS says they're friends with every Islamic terrorist in order to maintain relevance.

I was gonna go see Dune Part 2 today and seeing this post I had an out-of-body experience and was briefly confused at where I was. It took me a while to realize I wasn't watching a movie being projected onto the big screen, I was watching Bry-Bry project his issues onto faceless nobodies online. Again.
