It's not that they realize it's dumb to bite the hand, it's that the groups that claim KF hates them actively use it as research and admit it. Also it's coincided with more and more trannies being outed as perverts, scammers and sex pests. It's becoming very obvious and mainstream that that particular group is garbage, even if most people still stay quiet about it. Keffels especially is a prime example with even lefties and trannies coming out against him. The other group is just fag breadtube debate pussies and all of them have shit personalities and constant drama anyway.

It's becoming harder and harder for them to ignore the use of the website in their OWN research as well. From what I've seen normie youtubers have ALREADY been using it, just not mentioning it, with a few exceptions.
I watch a leftie YouTuber called LazyBedhead who did a video on those two trannies fighting over plagiarism. As always they have to put a million fucking disclaimers, and essentially say KF is specifically here to hate speach trannies to death, but DID say the dox info is publicly available/sourced and to be careful if you visit because you might read the words nigger faggot and hate crime iDubbz.

The tranny being harassed in the video used KF to get info on the one harassing her, and used a THIRD unrelated trannies info and video, who ALSO got info from KF.
BOTH linked the trannies thread from KF as a source in their videos.

I've definitely noticed the shift with more and more people openly name dropping the site and it seems like everyone's just testing the waters on just how positive they can be without a community revolt.
The current meta seems to depend on which group you're in. If you're a normie Youtuber, call it a gossip site that has a bunch of hateful but harmless losers.

I didn't see this myself but he told me he got into trouble for spending his time playing with the cats instead of cleaning their litter. When they forced him to clean the litter he gave up after 10 minutes and went home.

The optimist in me likes to think this is because of the Streisand Effect that #DropKiwiFarms and the ensuing barrage of media hit pieces caused.
