IGG publicly states that they consider all tiers "rewards" for backing. They treat these as donations, not purchases.
What Eric July does is a pre-order, which leaves him open to being sued for not delivering a book in the timeframe he established.
Crowdfunding doesn't have that pesky legal limitation; as demonstrated by Richard Pace, and even CG's beloved Saint Liefeld who have unfulfilled campaigns stretching back almost a decade.

But, Rippasend is the Devil. On time books are "hot and ready" and not "quality" like copy and pasting Heather Antos's tweets into the dailogue of your villains. QUALITY.

I think it might be setting in how badly he fucked up and committed irreversible career suicide by joining this rabble broadcasting their degeneracy full-time. They were toxic before but now they're downright radioactive and there's no coming back, no redemption possible. Right now is as good as it is ever going to get for the Frog Squad and that ain't great. Then when the drunken chuckle-stream is over he has to deal with Yanzi demanding he shit out more gay kitten cartoons that nobody wants to satisfy her. They hosted July in 2022. Why would any manga fan care about July? They are desperate to fill that space with anything. They hardly have high standards. I explained the history of AM several times in this thread. They are a bit of a pariah in the con scene. Which would normally make them FROG's best bet.

But yeah, the problem is that I don't think Rekieta has the pull he once had, and I think it would cause problems with FNT. Critical Drinker was/is a big draw. So is Vic. I can't imagine them borking all that up for the sake of Balldo and Pie Man.
