From having taken quick glimpses to the /hmofa/ thread on /trash/ i thinks it mostly due to how despite being similar on the surface to your average furfag, most hmofags don't have an interest in common furry things like fursuits or cons, hmofags are extrictly straight or bi in the rarest case while most furries are a shade of the rainbow, don't give a shit about "the community" like furries do, and they are more like weebs, which tend to be in slapfights with furfags.
If I were to guess, I'd say the long and short of it is because people into hmofa are more comfortable in their own skin. They don't make some sparkledog OC to pretend they are someone they're not. Some of the biggest seethe I've seen from the most stereotypical of furries is directed at people who like hmofa or some variation of it.
There's truth to this as well.
I think for someone like Wolf Nanaki seething over Fang being un-queered by Cavemanon is because "muh queer erasure" and not because Human Male with Anthro Female.
I kinda doubt it that'll happen, said tourists already made up their mind about Snoot Game from 3rd party types who had a burning hatred for the game. So really, they wont touch it or wanna even approach it.

Spidey is its own can of worms, he's very obsessed with his version of Naomi and all the lore he built upon her. This Naomi has a bully sister, an Italian dad and a fat British mom as well as a fat British grandma. She also married Anon in an alternative universe and has 3 kids, but he also likes the GVH universe because he has a lesbian fetish and Naomi being with Fang is exciting. I'm looking forward to when he makes a full complex family tree like Ken Penders did with Knuckles.
